      Max Payne 3 sees the welcome return of Max Payne as he embarks on his new life in Sao Paulo.

      Rockstar has taken over the development from Remedy in this third outing of the Max Payne series and the third person action adventure see the former detective cutting down on his choice of weapons, choosing instead to carry a more reasonable two at a time.

      With the return of trusty painkillers, a revised bullet-time and all new cover system, Max needs to battle even harder to survive. This guide helps you to complete the whole game and after the walkthrough, you'll see advice on how to unlock content and achievements/trophies.

      So lets get started.

      Max Payne 3 Walkthrough

      Chapter 1: Something Rotten in the Air

      The game begins with Max settling into his new apartment. At a party, it is revealed that Max is working for Rodrigo Branco and soon enough, a gang turns up to cause trouble.

      And what trouble they cause. The gang make off with Branco and Fabiana, Rodrigo's wife. It is then your job to chase them.

      Now in control of Max, you will be taken through a tutorial. First of all, you will be faced with an enemy, so follow the on screen prompts to take him out. After this, it will be time to move, so again follow the prompts. Continue in this fashion, following the commands to perform the actions until you take out the third enemy.

      You'll then enter a room where you can use the tools you have just been given to take out the enemies. If you need a helping hand with your health in this area, press up on the d-pad to take a painkiller.

      You can then move out onto the balcony, but before you do, make sure you grab any ammo and the painkillers from the coffee table. Now go on out and you will notice that Fabiana is being used as a human shield. As you head on down the rooftop, a slow motion scene will play out. Make sure you aim for the head of the enemy.

      Having saved Branco's wife, you now need to find out what has happened to Branco himself. Leave the elevator in the lobby and take out the bad guy. You should then see some pillars. Make sure you take cover and then using the analogue stick, take a look out and kill the enemies. Be careful here and watch out.

      Head through the next set of double doors and take out the enemy.

      Once you have done this, make your way to the garage. You will encounter yet more enemies here, so use the pillars for cover and take them out with bullet time and shoot dodge. Once you have cleared the area, head to the flashing panel and open it.

      Continue your search for clues into the next area. In the corner, you should see yellow lines painted. Go over there and you will find a golden gun part.

      Keep on moving through and take a look at the picture of the Branco's. Move again and then take cover when you see the enemies. Take them out.
