    While events and happenings in this story are inspired by true incidents, any similarity to real persons places or things is purely coincidental. Are they just plain fun in the eyes of a little boy’s active imagination at the close of World War Two?

      June 27, 1945.

      Danny could see the bright red diamond-shaped Railway Express signs on the baggage wagons nearly a block away and the bright green paint on each well cared for conveyance. He has finally arrived at the Wabash Railroad train station in mid-afternoon.

      Danny tightly gripped the leather handle of his pint-sized suitcase as he climbed onto the concrete passenger platform. With the other hand, he clutched the hand of his host, Edward L.
