Even though I’m still fifty kilometers away, the heat signature of the big Global Airlines scramjet appears as a glowing, orange and purple outline on my infrared scanner. As I approach from the south, I can imagine Veronica inside the plummeting aircraft, terrified, wondering if I was on the way. Yeah V, I’m almost there, but I’m about to attempt something that’s probably going to kill me, you, and everybody else aboard that plane. Somehow, I knew it was going to end like this. As I rocket over the snow-covered Ohio farmland, I think back to that day when my life changed forever. I can’t help sensing the wonder of it all- how one decision lead me down a path that I never imagined. I was given a gift that only a few people in history have been given, and I wonder if the world is any better for it.

I’m Fox Hunter and you’re in the Crisis Room. Coming up, new video from Simon Savant, threatening a major attack if his demands are not met. Also after the break, I’ll have a live interview with The Wraith, on the response of the Super…

Hey stranger, you’re home late. This is starting to become a habit.

Veronica padded down the stairs, pulling on a River City University sweatshirt.  I hit the mute button on the remote as she leaned over my shoulder and kissed me.

Yeah, I know. There was another TB scare at the high school. Every time a kid coughs I’m looking at a six hour investigation.

Mmm, sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon.

"Yep, that drug resistant strain that’s going around is making my life pure hell. Leon and I spent all day interviewing students and teachers to see who might’ve been exposed. Days like this make me
