    Author’s Profile William Foskett, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, attended several universities and graduated with a Bachelor in Criminology from the University of California at Berkeley, a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor, both from John F. Kennedy University. He spent two years at Cal State University in San Francisco. William worked for the Oakland Police Department for twenty years and retired as a Lieutenant of Police. He subsequently worked for the Alameda County Public Defenders Office as an investigator. He and his wife Jean have been involved in cattle ranching and land development. They enjoy short trips, exercising, good food and wine. William has written three books, A Series of Adjustments, Rattles, and Heaven on 9/11 and is working on the fourth. He has also written eight screen plays, a TV script and short stories.

      Chapter One - The Hallways of Heaven

      Humans can usually find something wrong with just about anything. For instance, even in heaven you occasionally hear negative comments about the hallways. This is hard to understand because they were constructed with beautiful marble; there’s nothing as grand on earth. What bothers people is the lack of background noise. The silence is unnerving.

      Today is different, not only can we hear voices but also the sound of footsteps. Someone is in a hurry. He or she is not running but there are fast, authoritative steps coming our way.

      The voices are those of Muhammad and Jesus Christ. Muhammad is very upset and Christ is trying to calm him. It wasn’t long ago that it was Muhammad who spent most of his time helping Christ in his darkest hour. Of course, I’m speaking of World War II when Christians slaughtered millions of innocent human beings. Christ has often said that he could not have endured that time without the assistance and support of his best friend, Muhammad. For years Muhammad was at Christ’s side as heaven received the millions of innocent souls and others who were either recycled due to lack of achievement, or cast down into hell to pay for the evil they did while on earth.

      Today, it is Muhammad who can’t understand why his followers had participated in acts of unspeakable depravity. How could they have done such a thing? he says to Christ. They all studied the Koran. They all know what I said. How could they have misinterpreted my message? This is outrageous. I’ll have their heads for this. They’re all going on a fast ride to hell.

      Corrupt men have distorted your words, brother, Christ replies. They did so with my message, and they have found ways to twist the words of every good man and woman who has ever existed. It’s a constant battle between good and evil.

      That’s no excuse. You made yourself clear and I did the same. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Thou shalt not kill. That is not complicated.

      I know, but human brains can be captured by those of greater intelligence or evil design and twisted to their own whims. When you investigate, you will find that most of these men who seem so bad on the surface have been brainwashed by others. When they get here, they will expect heroic status.

      Well, they’re going to have a rude awakening. I’ve got seventy virgins awaiting them, but I’ll throw every one of these fanatics down into hell before they touch just one woman.

      Hear them out first. They all have a right to be heard.

      I’ll hear them out. Then I’ll cast them down into hell where they belong. And, while we’re talking about it, you know who better not show up.
