INTRODUCTION
If you are looking for a get rich quick-fix magic formula for getting rich then this book is not for you. In my experience there is no such thing. It takes real commitment and resolve to achieve great things and that is what SUPERGOALS is all about. This book is for ambitious people who want to get ahead fast!
My primary goal is for SUPERGOALS to be the catalyst that turns it all on for you? It’s a metaphysical fact: There are no accidents in the Universe. Everything happens for a purpose. The very fact that you are holding this book in your hands demonstrates that you are of the elite! I have chosen the most compelling stories to illustrate my points, the most succinct quotes and the most noteworthy thinkers in the history of mankind to back up what I write. This information is not new; but it might be new for you. My goal is to convince you whether you are already a millionaire or dead broke that there is greatness in you, a magnificent potential that realizes, in every cell in your body that you are truly a most awesome person capable of the most incredible things!
As the popular Sufi poet Rumi wrote almost seven hundred years ago Inside every human-being there are God’s and Goddess’s in embryo. They have only one desire; they want to be born!
My goal in writing SUPERGOALS is to facilitate this transformation in as many lives as possible. Like a volcanic eruption rapid growth may take place with ferocity and at other times we grow with a gentle awareness. Either way implementing the strategies and techniques in SUPERGOALS will represent a giant leap in your personal journey from success to SUPERGOALS!
OK, so when reading this book I strongly recommend that you have a couple of colored highlighters and pen and notebook beside you as you read. Use the highlighters to underline the key ideas that strike you. Use the pen and notebook to immediately capture the ideas that you feel have the greatest impact.
There is a prerequisite to getting the result you desire in your life from this book! You must commit to change your thinking to change your life. No matter what you position or where you’re at with your life know this it’s your very best thinking that got you exactly where you are today.
Remember focus is the key. The main reason most people struggle financially, professionally and personally is they lack focus. They procrastinate and allow themselves to be easily distracted and interrupted. Now you have the opportunity to be different. SUPERGOALS will motivate you to be more, have more and ultimately do faster than you ever thought possible! That’s the goal! There is a real treasury of wisdom contained in the pages ahead so let’s get started. Use SUPERGOALS to guarantee your future success. Your life and those you cherish will be enhanced in the process.

CHAPTER 1
YOU HAVE UNLIMITED POTENTIAL!
You are designed for success, engineered for achievement endowed with the seeds of greatness!
Zig Ziglar
Never before in recorded history have there been more opportunities and possibilities for you to become all that you are capable of becoming and to achieve more of your goals. We’re living in a time in history that has been dreamed about since the dawn of man. They call it the golden age of mankind. In this book are the core ideas and strategies used by history’s greatest men and women.
James Allen who wrote the masterpiece As A Man Thinketh When he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstance grow; he then becomes the rightful master of himself.
Recently I was reading an old classic, The Message of a Master by John McDonald, and I was rocked by an incredibly insightful passage: The cause of the confusion prevailing in your mind that weakens your thoughts is the false belief that there is a power or powers outside you greater than the power within you.
Stop and think about that. What keeps us from attempting greater things from reaching for the brass ring in our life? What makes us take that great idea that could make our family financially secure and bury it underneath a lot of reasons why it never work? What stops us from that career change that would result in working in a profession we could really enjoy would get passionate about and just love?
There is only one thing that ever stops us from forward momentum and McDonald nailed it: the false belief that there is a power or powers outside you greater than the power within you.
Just as it says in the metaphysical book the Alchemist … The biggest lie in world is that we are not in control of our destiny.
I once heard a speaker say, The magic is in YOU!
As James Allen tells us, once we realize that we can create our circumstances, then, and only then, are we truly the master of our life and our destiny.
Regardless of your particular spiritual beliefs, you may find these words from the Gospel of John very enlightening, He that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.
That would indicate to me that we are already endowed
with the power to do amazing things -- far more amazing than most of us will ever attempt if we'd only understand and believe that the power is within us, not outside of us.
Orison Swett Marden in the early part of the 20th century wrote Every thought or emotion vibrates through every cell in the body and leaves an influence like itself. Did you realize that it is possible to read in your face and manner the record of your thoughts; that your face is a bulletin board upon which is advertised what has been going on in your mind for years?
Success is Goals
SUPER-SUCCESS is SUPERGOALS
Show me a successful person and I will show you someone who is an intensely driven SUPERGOAL oriented person. They know what they want and they focus single-mindedly on making that a reality, day in and day out. Success is SUPERGOALS and all else is just talk.
Setting SUPERGOALS and achieving them is the master skill of success and your entire future depends on your ability to do this. Setting and even just thinking of your SUPERGOALS will release an amazing amount of energy and vitality. Without SUPERGOALS you are like a ship without a rudder drifting aimlessly in a sea of confusion. With SUPERGOALS you fly like a missile straight and true to its target.
You have more natural potential than you could ever use in dozen lifetimes. Whatever you have achieved up until now is only a small fraction of what is possible for you if you apply yourself and utilize the strategies and techniques in this book. Wise people have often said about success It doesn’t matter where you have been it only matters where you are going.
The good news is that you and only you area in control of that by your thoughts and your actions.
Worthy, specific and clearly defined goals will do more to enhance your success in life than anything else. The average person is like a micro-universe, an unexplored planet with incredible opportunities and possibilities just waiting to be un-leased and channeled toward some great good.
What You Focus On Expands
It has often been said that the greatest discovery in human history is that human thought has the power to create reality. In other words the human mind has the power to mold and shape every aspect of your life. Everything around you from your mobile to your television, computer and digital camera started off as a thought inside someone’s head. Everything (within reason) in your life started off as thought, some dream, wish or hope in either your mind or someone else’s. Thought is creative. Your thoughts form, mold and shape your world and everything that either happens to you or consequently doesn’t happen to you.
You become what you think about most of the time.
The preceding statement is the most significant statement of all the great religions, philosophies, metaphysics, psychology and success. What you think about you bring about! Your outer world ultimately becomes a merciless mirror of your inner world and reflects back to you what you have been thinking about. Whatever you think about and focus on continuously will emerge into your reality sooner or later.
If you ask any successful person anywhere on this planet what they think about they will respond with some version of I think about what I want and how do I get it.
Un-Successful people think and focus on the negative things that they don’t like and don’t want. They have fallen into the victim-consciousness trap and play the game of aint it awful
and they did it to me!
They talk about their problems and worries and lack of money and what they don’t want most of the time. As Mark Twain often said There is only one group of people who talk more about money than the rich and that is the poor.
Living without SUPERGOALS is like driving a high performance sports car in a thick and dense fog. No matter how sophisticated and well-engineered the car is you will drive cautiously, slowly making little progress even on the smoothest and straightest of roads. Setting clear and specific goals will lift the fog immediately allowing you to focus and channel your unique abilities and talents in the direction of your most cherished dreams. Having SUPERGOALS enables you to step on the gas pedal of your own life and speed ahead rapidly to the achievement of what you really want.
You Are Designed to Achieve SUPERGOALS!
If you take a homing pigeon out of its roost, put it in a cage, cover the cage with a blanket, put the cage in a box, and then place the box into a closed truck cab. You can then drive a thousand miles in any direction. If you then open the truck cab, take out the box, take off the blanket, and let the homing pigeon out of the cage, the homing pigeon will fly up into the air, circle three times, and then fly unerringly back to its home roost a thousand miles away. No other creature on Earth has this incredible cybernetic, goal-seeking function except for man.
You have the same goal-achieving ability as the homing pigeon but with one marvelous advantage. When you are absolutely clear about your goal, you do not even have to know where it is or how to achieve it. The how
or where
is none of your business initially. By simply deciding exactly what you want, you will begin to move unerringly toward your goal, and your goal will start to move unerringly toward you. At exactly the right time and in exactly the right place, you and your SUPERGOAL will meet.
This incredible cybernetic mechanism located deep within your mind, enables you to almost always achieve your goals, whatever they are. If your goal is to take a 3 week vacation with your family and take them to Disney World in Hong Kong you will likely achieve it. If your goal is to create and maintain a wonderful body full of vibrant health, you will achieve that as well. Like a computer, your goal-seeking mechanism is nonjudgmental. It works automatically and continuously to bring you what you want, regardless of what you program into it.
Nature is neutral towards your goals. It doesn’t care about the size of your goals be they big or small. This natural capability, this goal striving mechanism will enable you to achieve them regardless of their size. So if you’re going for your goals you may does well set SUPERGOALS that are worthy of your potential.
I Just Wanna Be Happy!
If you don’t become skillful at setting and achieving goals you will never be happy. Go and ask an un-happy person what their goals are and they will give you a weird look as if you just stepped out of a flying saucer. You will only feel really happiness in your life when you are making progress towards a pre-determined worthwhile destination, a goal of some kind. So if you think that setting goals is too much for you and we haven’t even got past the 1st chapter yet – think again. You can never be happy without goals. Period. Earl Nightingale is famous for saying that Success and or Happiness is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.
And Victor Franklin, the founder of logotherapy, wrote that the greatest need of human beings is a sense of meaning and purpose.
Having goals gives you that sense of meaning and purpose Franklin was talking about. As your goal becomes closer to reality your level of happiness increases and you feel stronger and more confident. The passion you feel for what you love to do increase. You feel more competent and in control of your life and your abilities to effect positive change. All the steps you make towards the achievement of your SUPERGOALS increases your belief that you can achieve even bigger goals in the future.
Setting and working towards your SUPERGOALS and goals and eventually achieving them are one of the golden keys to happiness in your life. Setting SUPERGOALS and regular goals is so powerful and stimulating that the very act of thinking about them inspires and empowers you with a feeling of happiness. You feel energized and filled with confidence. Your life takes on significant meaning and purpose.
This is the golden key that will unlock and unleash your full potential and thus a continuous flood of happiness into your life is the habit of goal-setting. You only have to do this for a certain time… and that is for the rest of your life. Develop a laser like focus about your goals. This will ensure that you are constantly talking and thinking about them rather than like losers always talking and focusing on things they don’t want. Resolve from this moment on that you will use your natural goal-striving Sub-Conscious Mind like a guided missile or homing pigeon, moving steadfast toward the SUPERGOALS that significant to you.
There is no greater guarantee for you to live a long, prosperous, purpose-driven life than to continually set and achieve meaningful goals to do more, have more and ultimately be more. This is what you’re designed to do! Only SUPERGOALS make all of life both rewarding and fulfilling.
Side-Benefits to Having SUPERGOALS
1 Being highly skillful at bring closure to goals instead of being caught in the process will ensure that you are highly paid for your talents and gifts.
2 SUPERGOALS and regular goals enable you it influence and to a great extent control the direction of your life. Change in your life is inevitable and goals help you flow
with that change easier.
3 Having goals gives your life purpose.
4 Goals dramatically increase your chances of experiencing more happiness and joy.
5 Having SUPERGOALS draws people and energy to you to facilitate their outcome. People crave to be part of and contribute to something significant.
6 SUPERGOALS enable you to unleash your full potential.
Never before in human history have people lived in fear of the future than today. And this is one of the key side-benefits to having goals. Having at least one SUPERGOAL and several smaller regular goals will assure that the changes in your life are primarily self-directed and self-determined. According to Aristotle, the famous Greek philosopher man is a teleological organism and the interesting thing is the Greek word for telos
means goals. All of Aristotle’s teachings conclude that all of human endeavors are meant to bring you towards and to something that you want. So the only question that you can ask yourself now is What are my goals?
What is your aim?
Remember you will be happy to the extent that you are involved in meaningful activities that are taking you to your unique and particular worthy destination. And don’t worry if you don’t know what this is. That’s one of the things this book will do for you; bring you absolute and crystal-clear clarity to your dreams and wishes thus transforming them into powerful life enhancing goals and if your super-serious and super-committed even SUPERGOALS. You have an exciting and compelling life ahead of you.
Crystal Clear Clarity Is Everything!
Inside of you lay talents and abilities that are asleep waiting for you to wake up. You have within you, right now, the wherewithal to achieve any goal that you are heart-aligned with. This is your birth-right. Your greatest responsibility to yourself and family is to invest whatever time and money that is required to become absolutely clear as to what you want to be, have and do. The greater the clarity and the greater your ability to describe your mental vision of it, the more of your limitless potential and ability you will unleash for the greater good of not only your life but for humanity.
There are many estimates as to the amount of potential that the average person uses in his or her lifetime. For years it was agreed that the average person uses only ten percent of their potential going to their grave with a full ninety percent still in them, never seeing the light of day. Here is something incredible. The fact is according to Stanford University, the average person functions at only two percent of their mental potential. The remainder just sits there in reserve for some potential future time. Unfortunately for most this future never arrives. This is the equivalent of your parents leaving you in their will one million US. Dollars but during the entire course of your life you only spent 20,000 of it. The rest of the money, some 980,000 USD just sat there in your bank account unused throughout your life. What a waste?
Florence Chadwick Story
If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll end up where you don’t want to be. Clear and specific directions are important.
On her 1st attempt to break the world record for swimming the English Channel, Florence Chadwick encountered heavy seas. Fortunately, she had trained in the cold Atlantic Ocean, was in peak shape, and was well prepared to do battle with the huge waves and challenging temperature. Her trainers were along beside her in a boat, greased her body to help provide protection from the cold, and gave her hot soup from a thermos. She was well prepared however all the training and planning didn’t include what to do in the event of a heavy fog. As a thick fog descended, her vision became limited to a few feet and the water seemed to get colder. The waves seemed to get higher and she began to get cramps in her arms and legs and her hands began to get stiff. Her painful muscles screamed for relief and although she was close to shore, she finally gave up. Her valiant effort was for nothing -- or was it?!
Later reporters asked Florence why she gave up when she was such a short distance from shore. Her answer revealing and yet simple: I lost sight of my goal. I’m not sure I ever had it firmly in mind.
The message is clear. You probably won’t encounter a physical fog as Florence Chadwick did however having a clear mental picture of your goal before you commence is critically important. This approach enables you to see through those unexpected fogs that may impede your view. When you set your goals visualize their successful outcome, passionately work to achieve them and you’ll have a far better chance of realizing their outcome. By the way, Florence Chadwick did just that, she refocused and went on to become the first women in history to swim the British Channel.
Why More People Don’t Set Goals?
1 Most People Don’t Know How to Set Goals
It’s possible to a university degree in our society and never receives even fifteen minutes worth of instruction on goal setting, even though goal setting is more valuable and crucial to your long term success and happiness than any other single subject that you could ever learn.
2 Most People Don’t Take Their Lives Seriously
The vast majority of people on this earth are talkers and not doers. They’re not willing to make the necessary efforts to take control of their life and make something of themselves. People who don’t set goals will someday wish they did, as the great Chinese philosopher Confucius who lived five hundred years before Christ said, If a man takes no thought about what is distant he will find sorrow near at hand.
3 Most People Aren’t Sold On the Law of Responsibility
Most people don’t accept complete responsibility for their lives. It’s important to note that goals aren’t the first step towards goal setting. Until a person accepts that he is fully one hundred percent responsible for his or her life and for everything that happens to them, they typically won’t even take the first step in goal setting. The irresponsible person usually uses up all their creative energies making elaborate excuses for their current circumstances and failure to make progress. Then he buys lottery tickets goes home and watches actors and actresses on television achieve their goals while he gets no closer to the goals that he hasn’t even set.
4 A Feeling of Unworthiness or Low Self-Esteem
A person who is so low mentally and emotionally that he has to look up to see bottom isn’t likely to be confident or optimistic enough to set goals.
5 Most People Don’t Understand the Importance of Goal Setting
If you were raised in a household where your parent’s didn’t have goals and the setting and achieving of goals was not a regular topic of family discussion it is possible you could reach adulthood without ever knowing there is such a thing as goals outside of sports. If you move in a social circle where people do not have clearly defined goals for which they’re working on, on a consistent basis, it could become possible for you to think goals are not a particular important aspect of life.
6 Fear of Rejection or Criticism
The vast majority of us, from the time we were children have had our hopes and dreams crushed by the criticism and laughter of others. Some of our parents having not reached goals they never really set didn’t want us to get our hopes up and then be disappointed. Keep your goals confidential except for the following two exceptions. Your spouse or significant other and other goal oriented people who will encourage and support you in the direction you’re choosing to go. Also, make it a personal policy to always encourage everyone who shares his or her goals with you.
7 Fear of Failure
The fear of failure is the single greatest obstacle to moving your life from success to significance period. Fear keeps people taking a risk and frozen in their comfort zones. It makes people keep their heads down and play it safe seeking security and safety rather than embracing risk and the unknown. The fear of failure is expressed in the language I can’t, I can’t or I can’t. It’s learned in early childhood as the result of destructive criticism and punishment. Fear or failure entrenched in the sub-conscious mind paralyzes hope and kills ambition more than any other negative emotion in the human experience. Remember this; big goals can create a fear of failure. A lack of goals guarantees it.
