    Aislin is of Irish, Danish, English, and Romany (Gypsy) descent. Raised on the Canadian prairies, she spent most of her formative years with her maternal grandfather, following him into his garden and through the woods. He introduced her to the magick of nature. It is the magick of her childhood that has the greatest influence on her today.Aislin is considered a local expert on paganism, the occult, and astrology. Her own children, both boys, are quickly learning the ways of Wicca and seem to embrace nature’s magick with vigor. She is also a professional astrologer and Tarot reader, serving her local community in this capacity as frequently as required.As a writer, Aislin is the author of Tarot Deciphered: Understanding and Using the Tarot, which has become a handbook for those new to the Tarot and its uses.       I was looking for something that wasn't quite Traditional Wicca but wasn't not Wicca either. This one did it for me. It's simple enough even for a beginner like me to understand, so I wasn't lost at any point. I also liked that it's more reasonably priced than some of the Wicca books on the market. I'll be buying the next one as soon as I'm done with this one.

    About the Workbook

    Knowledge can be a powerful thing, but knowledge on its own is useless. To truly have any power, that knowledge must be applied. It must be carefully studied and reflected upon. It must be absorbed. This is true of all knowledge, and most certainly applies to the knowledge acquired while studying the art of Ashling Wicca.

    This workbook is designed to be used in conjunction with Ashling Wicca, Book One. It is filled with various tests, exercises, and supplementary material. All of this will enhance your understanding of the Ashling Wiccan tradition. Most of this material is used by traditional Ashling covens when assessing a candidate’s readiness for initiation as a Novice of Ashling Wicca.

    This book is divided into units in much the same manner as Ashling Wicca, Book One. In fact, the units in this workbook are identical and should be completed in order. In addition, each unit is divided into sections. You should complete each section before moving on to the next. The sections are consistent throughout each unit.

    Each unit has a test. The test for each unit is designed to be written after studying the information presented in the corresponding unit of Ashling Wicca, Book One. Study the unit, take the test. These tests are not designed to be open book. They are, however, meant to be attempted several times until the necessary information has been absorbed. So if you don’t get all the questions right the first time, go back to Ashling Wicca, Book One and find the relevant material. Then take the test again. Most Ashling Wiccan covens allow this, so keep trying until you’ve truly absorbed all the necessary facts. Don’t skip the tests. They’re not difficult and address information that is crucial to any potential Novice of Ashling Wicca. Mark the tests yourself by searching for the answers in Ashling Wicca, Book One. This will again help you to fully comprehend and absorb all the necessary information.

    The second section of each unit involves exercises. Don’t skip these either. Some of them are simply practical things you should do to get ready to be a Novice, such as making a robe. These are still important and should absolutely be done in the order presented. Others are designed to get you started, to help you connect to your own natural energies. In essence, they’ll get you ready for magick and the energies involved in controlling and directing energy. Follow the instructions carefully to get the most benefit from the
