About this ebook
San Francisco, 1987. Danae, eighteen, unconscious within the neon frame of a sex shop window, stands imprisoned by an evil queen who fears her nascent power. Prince Charming, a novice witch coming off her shift at the strip joint, knows a glass coffin when she sees one and responds with a liberating smash. Escaping the clutches of an abusive mother, with only the clothes on her back and a head full of ghastly visions, this unlikely Snow White runs away to seek her true family in the loudest forest of them all: Bay Area thrash metal.
Life is awesome as the frontwoman for local upstarts Enspelled, or so Danae thinks. Ascending from grimy local bars into the burgeoning death metal pantheon is a grueling dream come true, wishes granted in fierce brotherhood and erotic fire. Until a pomegranate-laced invitation tempts her into the rockstar underworld, a harsh land of occult grotesqueries, pretty predators, the relentless grind of the music industry, and one incredibly snide mirror. But fighting her way back to the surface is no easy feat, not when caught between a tribal-industrial temple and a house of diabolical notoriety, when true love glitters from the heart of a rival, and kindred spirits threaten to silence Danae's voice forever.
Lilah Wild
Lilah Wild is a speculative author and ravenous inkdrinker with a sweet tooth for rock’n'roll witchcraft horror fantasy. She loves loud music, brutal fiction, dancing like a fiend, and living life like a late-night punk rock picture show. When she’s not elucidating on Old Hollywood screen goddesses or the blood and fire quotient of metal videos that purport to be evil, Lilah can be found dabbling in tribal fusion bellydancing, conducting experiments with vegetarian cuisine, and randomly wandering the sparkling deco puzzlebox of Manhattan. She lives in Queens amid a clamor of doom metal noodling and four cats. Visit LeopardMoon.com for further adventures.
