About this ebook
When there is illness, we call on the Lord for His healing touch. Yet many people are amazed when the healing for which they are praying actually takes place.
Bob and Charlyne Steinkamp have experienced God's healing touch many times. In 1987, God healed their family and restored their marriage two years after divorce. The Lord's healing also saw Bob through brain surgery, seizures, multiple strokes, and weeks in a hospital when he was not expected to survive.
In this book the Steinkamps share a very personal story of healing. This book proclaims the good news that our God is a healing God, restoring both marriages and physical bodies.
"Each prayer that Charlyne has ever uttered for me outside a hospital room is nothing more than an extension of the stand that the Lord led her to take for our marriage back in 1985."
"Satan did not get you by a divorce, and I am not about to turn you over to him now. I am going to fight for you again," she declared.

IN APPRECIATION
This Book is a product of the era in which we live. It was written on the Internet. As chapters were prepared, friends from coast to coast had access to the pages and offered their editing help. We are grateful for their assistance.
Our friend Karen Lewis, who continues to pray for the healing of her own marriage, prepared original art for the cover. Each time a new book is birthed, Karen has a design ready when the manuscript is completed. The Lord allows her to capture the theme of the book every time. Karen, we thank you sincerely.
Many readers will recognize the name Julie Bell. She travels with Charlyne to out of town conferences and speaking engagements. We appreciate and thank Julie, who assists us with manuscript preparation of our books.
Our deepest appreciation is extended to everyone who has prayed and contributed so that Be Healed might be a reality. May the Lord bless you.

DEDICATION
This book, about The Healer, is dedicated to two healers, my precious wife, Charlyne, and Dr. Frank Baratta, the Fort Lauderdale physician who hired Charlyne to work in his office over 23 years ago. During that time, Cardiology Associates has grown from two to nine physicians. Charlyne, hired for his front desk, is now the Administrator for that group.
During these past two decades, Dr. Baratta has witnessed the marriage of our two older children, Tim and Lori, and the birth of our first grandchild. He has witnessed the birth and growth into manhood of our youngest son, Tom. Dr. Baratta has maintained the health of my father, now in his eighties. He has been my physician, always going far above what was required. During my times of illness, he has encouraged Charlyne to put the needs of their office after family needs.
Dr. Baratta and Charlyne have much in common. They both love their Lord. They both love their families and would do anything for them. They are both in the heart-healing business. He helps the Lord heal the physical hurting heart. She helps the Lord heal the spiritual hurting heart.
This old sinful world would be a far better place if there were more Frank Barattas and Charlyne Steinkamps in it. I am thankful the Lord has given me both, one as my friend and the other as my mate.

INTRODUCTION
In March 1998, the Lord introduced my wife, Charlyne, and me to a powerful ministry tool when we discovered how the Internet could be used to help us minister to people praying and standing with God for marriage restoration. The web site of Rejoice Marriage Ministries is now visited by thousands of people each month.
During early October 1998, I was responding to an email late one evening. A woman in Virginia had sent us a message that included a comment that she was praying for my health. The tone of her message gave the impression that she might have thought I was seriously ill. I began a reply, outlining all the health problems that the Lord had brought me through.
Charlyne was tired and ready for bed. I was in the middle of composing my email and could not stop. I had not realized, until that night, all that the Lord had done for me, miracle after miracle. Long after my wife was asleep, I continued to write on that same message. There was no place to stop praising God for what He had done.
The next day a reply was received from that praying friend, thanking me and adding, That should all be in a book.
I had sensed that same thought the previous evening. This book is the result of my stopping to recall all the Lord has done.
The title of this work is also my advice to you: Be Healed. Your problem might be physical, as is mine. Your problem might be marital, as was ours. It does not matter if the problem you face today is financial, emotional, or spiritual. We serve a Risen Lord Jesus who is waiting to meet your every need, if you will only call on Him. There is no problem or circumstance too difficult for Him.
May today be the day for your miracle. Be Healed in the name of Jesus.

Chapter One
A TRIP TO TULSA
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Psalm 107:19&20
It was a strange sensation that lasted only a second. I was waking up to different surroundings and did not know where I was. In the next few seconds my orientation started coming back. I looked to the left and saw my wife, Charlyne, peacefully sleeping next to me. Suddenly, nothing else mattered. Even though half asleep, I knew that everything was all right.
Eight years before, I would not have seen her there. Our problems had become too great, in our eyes, and we were divorced. That seemed like the only solution for us and our three children. No one told us that Our Lord Jesus can rebuild and restore hurting families. Charlyne was touched by God, and took a stand for restoration of our marriage. Within two years we were remarried to each other.
As I tried to awaken, I remembered that we were in a hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was Monday morning, July 4th weekend, 1993. We were to speak that morning at a Covenant Keepers Conference. Sleep left me quickly as I recalled the grand weekend we were having. The past two days had been a time of meeting and greeting friends, many with whom we had communicated for a couple of years but had not met in person until now. Our luggage had been packed. Our schedule included speaking together to the conference, and then being taken to the airport for the trip home. The next morning I would be waking up in my own bed.
I tried to get out of bed without disturbing my wife. I am a morning person. She is a night person. That works fine at home, but creates problems when we travel. Charlyne often reads by flashlight, while I sleep and the next morning will find me writing in the bathroom while she finishes up her night's rest.
I walked across that room and noticed a big mirror on the wall. It appeared to be swaying. I leaned against the wall for support. Once in the bathroom, the dizziness brought me to my knees. My vomiting woke Charlyne. A few minutes later, she helped me back to the bed. We assumed I had a 24 hour bug, and she called the airline to delay our trip home by one day. Thankfully, our hotel room was available for another day.
As the time for us to speak drew nearer, I became sicker. Charlyne left to go downstairs and speak without me. The afternoon before, the Lord had given me a message, An Open Letter to My Prodigal Parent,
that I had written out on a yellow pad. I did not know when I wrote those words, what was about to happen.
Late that morning, I heard the phone ring several times, but I had become too ill to even answer the phone. I also heard knocks on the door as concerned men from the conference attempted to check on me. There was no way I could even get to the door.
As soon as Charlyne came back to the room, she called the front desk for help and then called 911. I was sick beyond even caring, but she knew something was seriously wrong with me.
That Monday afternoon is a blur to me. I vaguely recall an ambulance ride to St. Francis Hospital. Charlyne and I did not know it, but the Lord was there before us. He assigned a Christian nurse to me and a compassionate ER physician. Covenant Keepers prayer partners were praying. Several of them had come to the hospital to be with Charlyne.
By late afternoon, I had been diagnosed as having a middle ear infection. Charlyne called the airline again to delay our flight for one more day. It was decided that I would stay in St. Francis' Short Stay
facility overnight. By bedtime, I had been admitted to my room, and Charlyne had gone
