    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I could not do this without God, without His hand guiding me, directing me, giving me the words that I give to you. I also could not do this without the people God has given me, the people He has placed in my life.

Of course, I must thank my husband. His love and patience does more for me than he could ever imagine. I am so glad that God gave him to me, to be my spiritual authority, the head of our house. I could not ask for a wiser, more Godly, more loving husband. I thank God every day for you..

⁹For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things--

¹⁰That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition].

    A Year of Growth

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 1:6 (NASB)

This is a book about growth, spiritual growth. It is about my growth as a Spirit-filled Christian with Asperger’s Syndrome.

A year ago I wrote the book, Fringe: My Life as a Spirit-Filled Christian with Asperger’s Syndrome. I felt led by God to write it. At the time, I thought that was all I was supposed to do. I thought my book would be a one-time thing; but God had other plans.

Since I wrote Fringe, I have written ten other books. This is the eleventh. The topics have ranged from Christian Aspies to healing from abuse to having a Christian marriage. I am astounded and humbled at what God has done, how He has used me.

When I completed Fringe I had no idea what to do or if anyone would even read it. I thought about going with a publisher, so I began to pursue that. Several publishers expressed interest; then I had the dream.

In the dream, God told me not to go with a publisher because they often edit material to make it more readable, marketable, whatever, and if one word is changed it will change everything. When He gives us a word, He does not want us to change it or modify it.

That is the risk that I would run if I entrusted my manuscript, the Word that God gave me, to a publisher, especially if that publisher was not a Spirit-filled Christian.

Not long after that, I stumbled upon a site called Smashwords.com. They allow writers to publish ebooks for free. They act as a distributor, working with Sony, Barnes & Noble, Apple and several other ebook stores. They also sell ebooks on their website for a percentage of the sale price.

Later, I learned about publishing through Amazon and converted my books for Kindle. Now they are also on Amazon. Then I discovered Amazon’s print service so they are in print as well. I have also discovered another ebook publisher, Book Tango. I just may try it too. Another bonus is that this experience has allowed me to help others publish their work too.

God is leading me, I just had to stop trying to do things my way and stop trying to do God’s job for Him. When I do things God’s way, in God’s time, I do much better. Letting God take my steps for me on the path makes for a much better, easier, more effective journey.

I saw my opportunity to publish God’s Work, distribute it and retain my rights. No editors to change the words, no publisher to tell me I have to adjust a concept because it may offend. I could publish it just as it was. I could publish it the way God wanted it – the way He intended.

Over that year between the first Fringe and this one, amazing things occurred in my life. I began to have better understanding of some things that had previously confounded me. I began to have better tolerance of things I could not previously tolerate. I began to heal!

I still have the Asperger’s traits, many of them anyway. I think I
