      Why don’t you just shut the fuck up! Rochelle snarled and punched the button on the radio, terminating the incessant cheerful warbling of the late-night DJ and replacing it with the strains of a saxophone. She tolerated the melody for just two minutes, then decided it sounded too much like a constipated elephant and snapped the radio off altogether.

      A hard, loathsome breath gushed noisily out of her nostrils, and she realised she was gripping the steering wheel far too tightly again. How many times had she told herself to relax during this drive?
