This book, Weight Watchers 40th Anniversary Tribute 101 OF My Very Best Weight Watchers Points Plus Delicious Recipes, is my tribute to the most incredible woman in the world of weight loss today, Jean Nidetch. Jean Nidetch, through her world-wide organization of Weight Watchers International, Inc. has taught millions of women and men just how to lose weight AND how to keep the weight off for successful permanent weight loss. The story of her successful weight loss that led to helping millions achieve their weight loss goals will be forever in their hearts and minds. So with all this in mind, let us start our tribute to Jean Nidetch and to all of the awesome Weight Watchers around the world right here and right now.
In 1961 Jean Nidetch was 37 years old and weighed about 214 pounds, plus she wore a size 44 dress.
Jean Nidetch was overweight most of her young adult life and was hopelessly trying to lose weight when one day someone asked her when her due date
was. Since she wasn't pregnant
, she knew it was time to lose weight as quickly as she possibly could.
She had heard of the New York City Board Of Health Obesity Clinic and after visiting the obesity clinic, she discovered that she could eat a well-balanced diet and lose weight. She soon started on an adventure in WEIGHT LOSS that resulted in her famous WEIGHT WATCHERS INTERNATIONAL FOOD PLAN and in 2012, launched the absolutely BEST ZERO POINTS PLUS FOOD PLAN into the weight watcher’s weight loss food plan. Her first weight loss food plan was based, in part, on the obesity clinic's diet plan. This first weight loss plan was an amazing plan, but limited in foods.
What we have now in our Weight Watchers meetings and our online classes, is the brand new amazing 2012 New Points Plus Eating Plan, an awesome delicious eating plan that allows us to eat anything we want at any time, and count the points as we go. This plan is an absolutely brilliant and innovative new idea in eating foods we love to lose weight successfully and safely.
Soon Jean Nidetch realized that she needed more than counting calories to achieve her weight loss goals. She phoned six of her fat
