12 Short Christian Plays about Faith
()
About this ebook
These 12 short plays look at one of the most important elements in our Christian walk – Faith. Hebrews 11:6 tells us why: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” These short plays will help audiences know how to do that.
Most of these plays were presented as part of a worship service, often just before the sermon. Our goal was to bring alive the message the congregation was about to hear; to show them how the message translated into their everyday lives. Our ministry worked. And, by presenting the scriptural illustrations this way, we gathered up the congregation's attention before sermon and got it focused where the pastor wanted.
The dramas can generally be presented with one or two actors, with minimum sets and no scenery, which makes producing them easy.
These plays can also act as templates for your own imaginations. I strongly believe that a drama ministry is important to a church. These plays give you an idea of what worked for us, which should encourage you to create your own short plays, plays that may be more meaningful and appropriate in your church that these may be.
With your purchase of this ebook, I give you, the purchaser, permission to produce the plays on as often as you like.

Author's Introduction
Breaks with God
Three Play Series
Morning Break
Jeff and Mark work together. Mark's a Christian. Jeff is a non-believer who believes he's got it all together. We soon find out he doesn't. In this three play series we see Jeff all together
come apart at the seams and we also see God, working through Mark, help Jeff bring it all back, and now sown together with unbreakable thread.
Illustrates Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Lunch Break (two of three)
When we meet Mark and Jeff during their lunch break, Jeff's life is complete unwound. His marriage is in shambles, his kids may be slipping away from him, and he knows no other way to deal with it except with anger and cynicism. Can Mark help?
Afternoon Break (Three of Three)
Faced with complete emotional ruin, Jeff finally hears God's call. But will it be in time? Are things even too far gone for God's grace to heal his catastrophic situation?
A Sense of Security
John and Marcia are on a date. It's been a good date so far. But out of nowhere, Marcia begins to voice a concern she has. She feels no security in her relationship with John. None what so ever. John, on the other hand has a concern of his own. It's only their 2nd date!
Illustrates Matthew 6:24-26:"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
The Willing Lord
Alex comes in from school and immediately announces to her Grandpa that she's going to be a cheerleader. She's going to try out tomorrow and is going to make cheerleading her thing. Grandpa uses this opportunity to illustrate one of life's great lessons - unless our wants and desires are submitted to God's will, life becomes far less than it
