      In the early spring of 1881, a fifteen year old girl named Sarah Beth Hawkins was set upon by an unseen entity. This story is a compilation of the few written accounts of those closest to her in addition to Sarah’s recently discovered diary. Strangely, the letters and diaries were found hidden in an antiquated hatbox in my father’s attic. My name is Taija Ford, and although I didn’t know it until I found the crazy piles of stored hatboxes, I come from a long line of paranormal investigators.

      The journals were mostly intact, but the letters were faded and crumbling in places. My father, David Ford, had pieced together these pages with numerous notes in between. Some written by himself and others apparently by my grandfather. This case was my first endeavor to discover if there is any truth to life after death, and continue on in his footsteps. Whether the story is true of false, I will leave for
