About this ebook
This ebook includes FIVE six-week series--that's 30 Bible lessons for children that can be used as a teaching curriculum or adapted for in-home use. Each series is detailed below:
Marshmallow Madness--Learn truths from the Bible and how they apply to life through, believe it or not, marshmallows! Includes games, crafts and a variety of spiritual-teaching activities. Some eating might be suggested!
Sticky Situations--Create some sticky situations and help your students learn that God gives us the wisdom and the courage to always do what is right.
Kitchen Craze & More Kitchen Craze--Get your spatulas ready for both of these six-week series. Students will learn the truths of God's Word and be challenged to live for Christ through good old-fashion (fairly instant!) kitchen cooking and food decorating. Come join us and learn to follow God's recipe for your life. Some eating will be involved!
Balloon Blast--Through balloon activities your students will encounter parables and teachings of Jesus. They'll have a great time learning to keep God first, to always be ready and not to worry. They'll have a blast!
These active-learning lessons are geared for thirty-minute segments but can easily be shortened or lengthened and adapted for both large and small group settings.
Kolby & Mary Beth King
God changed their lives… With that being said, Kolby is the children's minister at First Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma, where he and Mary Beth, his wife, minister to 150 elementary students each week. They are also the founders of three-thirty ministries, a resource network for the purpose of providing affordable resources to churches and families around the world. Kolby is a ventriloquist (which basically means he likes to talk to himself) and Mary Beth eats fire as a way of sharing the Gospel. During their years in evangelism and student ministry, they picked up other interesting ministry tools including stunts with six-foot balloons, balloon sculptures, fire-juggling (which one should never do on a windy day!), and a variety of other unique activities for the purpose of sharing Jesus with others. Learn more about events or training conference they can bring to your church or organization at http://www.threethirtyministries.org/kolby-king. "Jesus must become greater; I must become less." John 3:30

Our Goal
To help students experience God’s Word in a colorful, fun, surprising and creative manner; to ignite in them a hunger that leads them to dig in, crawl inside, explore, enjoy and live out God’s truth.
Teaching Method
Children only remember 10% of what they hear, 20% of what they see, and 30% of what they hear and see. They are concrete learners, which means they retain 80 to 90% of what they do, touch, smell, taste, and help teach. Therefore, this curriculum is packed with a teaching style that will help them to:
Find it. Taste it. Touch it. Make it.
Know it. Grow it. See it. Show it.
Live it!
Marshmallow Madness
Week 1 - God Made Me Special
_______________________
YOU WILL NEED: Large marshmallows, lots of toothpicks and marshmallows of all sizes, including huge ones for the Get-To-Know You Toss, if they are available.
BEFORE CLASS BEGINS
-Set out everything that you’ll need for today’s lesson.
-There are several verses to share today. Have these already marked in your Bible because you’re going to need as much time as you can get today.
-Make sure you have enough marshmallows. Always have some extras for your kids to eat while you tie in the spiritual points.
GET-TO-KNOW-YOU TOSS
Have your group sit in a circle. Say your name and then toss a large marshmallow to someone else. They will say their name and toss it to another person who hasn’t yet said their name. Continue until everyone has had a turn. Do it again in the same order. Then try to speed it up to see how fast your group can do it.
Read Psalm 147:4-5 from your Bible.
SAY: God counts the stars and knows them by name. His understanding is unlimited. He is almighty and He also knows your name. That’s how special you are to Him. He created you for a reason and today we’re going to create something too.
MARSHMALLOW SCULPTURES
Using toothpicks and both large and small marshmallows see who can come up with the most creative sculpture. Give each student an opportunity to show and explain his or her creation to the class. Praise something about each kids creation and especially for any kind of spiritual application.
ASK: What is something that God cannot do? (Let the kids guess—Most will say that He can do anything, which is true but this is a play on words.)
SAY: God cannot make a mistake and God didn’t make a mistake when He made you. God made you special and God doesn’t make junk.
Read 1 Peter 2:9 from your Bible.
ASK: Who does this say you are?
SAY: You are chosen; royal; part of a priesthood—that’s means you are a minister before God, a holy nation, you are a person for God’s own possession—This IS who you are in Christ. This isn’t what you try to become. This is what you became the moment you were saved—a part of God’s family.
SAY: God made you special and has a special design, a special plan just for you.
Call up a volunteer to represent Jeremiah. Lead all the kids to say, Hi, Jeremiah.
Jeremiah was a prophet of God but listen to what God told him:
Read Jeremiah 1:5 from your Bible but first tell the kids that every time you say the word I
, that’s God talking and for them to say, That’s God!
SAY: God had plans for Jeremiah’s life even before he was born and even before you were born, God had great plans for your life too. Follow Jesus in every way and you won’t miss a thing that He has designed for you.
If you have extra time…
Play the Get-to-Know-You Toss game again.
