About this ebook
According to research, there are 350,000 people in the United States living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Around the world, millions of individuals suffer with this chronic, incurable disease. Research (clinical trials) is being conducted around the world to fight the effects of this disabling illness. Since the symptoms can vary greatly, a diagnosis is often difficult to make. This book looks at these challenges and provides some helpful resources.
Take the journey of discovery while living with this chronic disease. The ups and downs and the obstacles encountered are average for someone who does not live with MS. But, what is needed to help cope with an unpredictable illness? This autobiographical novel will answer many questions in a clear and easy to understand manner. A variety of resources are made available along with a glossary of commonly used terms. Caregivers, healthcare professionals and others have contributed in one way or another to this book. This is not the typical MS book. Yes personal stories are shared, but there is so much more. Come take the journey to find out about Bad Nerves.
LJ (Asoral) Thomas
I have been writing for over 30 years. I began with poetry, then non-fiction but realized that I love fiction. I enjoy novellas the most and after that, short stories. I write because it is a part of me and it helps keep me sane in this crazy world. All of my fiction work is partially based on moments in life. My first collection of short stories, What Is This World ComingTo? is inspired by my children. I've had the stories for decades, but finally decided to publish in 2010 (this is why I say procrastination is a bad thing). My second collection came from listening to men and women in relationships talk about their problems. This is called “...And I Trusted You?” In September (2012) I released a book on Multiple Sclerosis, Bad Nerves: All about MS and stuff. This is my baby, because I live with this disease and I want people to be able to understand what it is from a layman's point of view. This book will not be very long, but it will be extremely informative. Prior to getting my books published, I was published in magazines and on websites. I have several pseudonyms. I want to help other writers/authors, so I've started a publishing company (Asoral Publishing). I am pleased to be a part of the AMB Publishing family and I enjoy working with the team. In addition, I help manage a band. The classic short stories, chick lit, humor, suspense, thriller and crime stories have influenced my writings. William Faulkner, Maya Angelou, Barbara Bradford Taylor, Mary Higgins Clark, V. C. Andrews, John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Jonathan Kellerman, William Patterson, Alice Walker, Terry McMillan and so many others have influenced me over the years. Most recently, I have been meeting and becoming friends with wonderful contemporary authors and I love the different ways they express themselves. My academic background includes business, health and creative writing. I enjoy editing manuscripts and working with people. Creativity is how we separate ourselves from each other, and this individualization makes us unique. The process is fascinating and beautiful. Managing this is heavenly.
