About this ebook
You're going down... In fact you're at an all-time low. You need help, because the only way you can get back up is by taking the advice of a professional.
Your story... your downfall... told from your own perspective, in verse form, and from the perspective of your 'consultant', in prose...
Warning... don't try this at home...!
In Decline , by Stanski, is basically a collection of poetic passages that follow a similar theme; that of decline... declining standards, declining attitudes, declining natural conditions... The concepts, introduced in verse format, are backed-up and supported by passages of prose, to form a 'case history', which attempts to explain the downfall of the 'client' ( who, on the one hand, could be an individual person, or society in general, and on the other, the planet we inhabit, or the whole of creation...).
The metaphors will be applied and interpreted, and the questions raised will continue long after the 'consultation' has ended...

A one... A two... A one, two, three, four...! How’s that then, for a classic intro...? But wait a minute... That’s more of a song intro, innit...? And this is more of a story, innit...? So, let’s start again, shall we...? Hi... How are you...? I’m Stanski... Now, don’t worry, I’m not as bad as I seem... I’m a strugling author... Not a tortured artist...! The thing is, I’ve written these books...For people to read... Do you like reading...? Everyone loves a good read, don’t they..? Anyway, I’ve got these books... That I’ve written... I know, you don’t know which books... I’m just getting round to telling you about them, aren’t I...? The thing is... If you want something doing... You might as well do it for yourself... So... I wrote these books myself... Now... These books... Y’know... The ones I’ve written... But haven’t got round to telling you about yet... These books that I’ve written... That I’m telling you about now... Will be available, very soon, for you to download... From Smashwords... To your PC, Tablet, or Mobile Phone...! In fact, pretty much anything connected to the internet...! Thanks to the miracle of modern technology...! It never ceases to amaze... Does it...? A Bit Of Background Stanski is the kind of guy who doesn’t do things by half measures. For example, he’s the guy who went to Thailand in 1999, to see in the New Millennium. He enjoyed it there so much that he decided to stay on for a while. He didn’t return to the UK until October... October 2010...! Stanski began writing in earnest in 2005 while recovering from a motorcycle accident, in the northern city of Chiangmai, in which he sustained serious head injuries. Since then, he has completed four novels, and is currently writing a fifth. Examples of verse by Stanski can be found on his Blog, ‘Elephant Small’ www.says-sir-ten.blogspot.com

1. Not History
You never talk about it
Nobody knows about it
Untold pain behind the smile
When you’re asked about your past
You want to change the subject
‘It’s not important’ you lie
Everyone must be thinking
How convenient to say
‘And the rest is history’
The rest is not history
The rest, of course, lives and breathes
And dwells within heart and mind
And will remain forever
A most unwelcome squatter
So you never mention it
Because you can’t stand the pain
No, you’re not in denial
It’s for real and you know it
The only trouble is though
Once able to admit it
And face it, speak about it
Openly acknowledge it
Then you have to re-live it
Blow by agonising blow
That’s both the physical ones
As well as the mental ones
The rest is not history
Will never be history
Dark in there isn’t it?
In that cavity… those cavities. The one between your ears, and the one between your lungs…
It’s always been dark in there though, hasn’t it? Only now, it’s like really, really dark.
Before… a long, long time ago… it was white… pure virgin white! But that was before… when you were young… and innocent… and didn’t care… and were in no rush…
But, as you grew, it turned, didn’t it? Changed colour…
What was once pure, virgin white, began to discolour, didn’t it?
Off-white, at first… Then, as time passed, it became increasingly darker. Increasingly darker shades of grey, stained what was once pure, virgin white… until you became, not old exactly, but older anyway… certainly not any wiser… and definitely no longer innocent… in fact, completely guilty… of so many things… So many things you’re actually extremely proud of…
But, that’s your way, isn’t it?
That’s
