1. Banana Pineapple Smoothie
Get a little taste of the tropics with this delicious pineapple smoothie. For best results, use fresh pineapple chunks, not canned.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1) 1 cup pineapple juice
2) 3 bananas, sliced
3) 1 tablespoon honey
4) 2 cups ice
Directions
In a blender add in this order: Ice, Honey, Bananas, Pineapple juice.
Blend until smooth. Pour into frosted glasses. Serve
Note: Bananas are an excellent source of potassium and can help lower blood pressure. However, they can quickly raise your blood sugar levels, so diabetics are warned to limit their banana intake.
2. Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
If you loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches as a kid, you’ll love this smoothie! If you want more of a milkshake texture, freeze the bananas first and use chunky peanut butter.
Ingredients:
1) 2 bananas, broken into chunks
2) 2 cups milk
3) 1/2 cup peanut butter
4) 2 tablespoons honey, or to taste
5) 2 cups ice cubes
Directions:
In a blender, place ice, peanut butter, honey, bananas and milk, in that order.
Secure lid and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
Note: Peanut Butter has vital healthy fats, protein and minerals that help to keep you fuller longer. The Bananas are packed with potassium, which give you a kick of energy that makes this smoothie a great afternoon pick me up.
3. Banana Blueberry Smoothie
This smoothie reminds me of blueberry cobbler, and it’s so pretty too!
Ingredients:
1) 1 medium ripe banana, cut into chunks
2) 1 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries
3) 1 cup of milk
4) 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
5) 1/2 cup crushed ice
6) Dash ground cinnamon
Directions:
Add to blender: Ice, bananas, blueberries, yogurt, milk and cinnamon.
Secure lid and process for 30 seconds or until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately.
