Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries to treat a whole host of illnesses and conditions. These cures and remedies have become part of our folklore, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t take them seriously. Apple cider vinegar contains many health giving substances such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, bioflavenoids and of course the main ingredient of acetic acid. All of these things can help our bodies to work to the peak of performance and shrug off some of those day to day conditions that get us down. You can drink apple cider vinegar or apply it directly to the skin or hair. Either way you are getting the benefit of all of these super nutrients. Some books on apple cider vinegar are written by the people who are then trying to sell the vinegar to you. I am not involved in selling these products at all. My main interest comes from my scientific and educational background together with the fact that I use apple cider vinegar myself on many occasions during my day to day life. I am a real fan and take a daily tonic to ward off illness. I also use it on my skin and hair to great effect. I am so impressed with the results that I get with apple cider vinegar that I felt compelled to research it further and then write this book. So, take while and look at the information in the book and then try apple cider vinegar for yourself. Pretty soon you could become a real fan too!
This version 2 of the book contains extra information, and in particular details about how to use apple cider vinegar in your daily cooking. There are plenty of recipes and cookery ideas that you can try out for yourself.
Ellen Vincent
Ellen Vincent was brought up in Ghana but now lives in the UK. She is interested in all things that are natural. Ellen has noticed that many of the cosmetics and treatments that are available in the West contain lots of artificial ingredients and are often based on oils and substances made from petro-chemicals. After comparing them with the kinds of things that she used in Ghana she has found that the petro-chemical based ones can cause irritations and bad reactions as well as not being as good as natural based products. She now extensively makes her own cosmetics and only uses the best natural ingredients that she can find.Back in the old country coconut oil use is widespread and is used in cooking as well as to make body creams. She uses virgin coconut oil to cook with and uses it as the base for many of her skin and hair creams and oils. Ellen now produces a range of natural cosmetics that she sells in her local area in the UK under the name of 'Natural Revelations'. She hopes that she will be able to introduce these to Ghana at some stage together with all of the books that she has written on natural healthy living.Dealing with the outside of your body is fine but, to make the most of the creams and oils that you apply, you need to make sure that the foods that you eat are also doing their job. She is a big fan of green smoothies and makes sure that she has these every day. She feels invigorated after drinking them. You should look out for Ellen's books on green smoothies which include a volume that just contains ideas for recipes. She has built up her vast collection of green smoothie recipes by experimentation and following good practice. In the UK she came across apple cider vinegar and has found that this too is very useful when it comes to treating your skin and keeping your body healthy. She was so amazed by the many uses that can be found for apple cider vinegar that she wrote a book all about it. This too will soon be available through Smashwords. If you want to find out about how using a range of natural ingredients can be so good for your body and health, then you really should read Ellen's books. These are available in both electronic formats and as paperbacks. She is hoping to produce a book specifically for the care of Black hair and skin and as a result you should watch out for this when it is actually published in the near future.

About the Author
Introduction
Vinegar has proved to be a useful substance over the years and has been used as the solution for many problems. One of the main uses has been in the preservation of food. Before we had freezers, food preservation was a real problem and vinegar was and still is an important food preservative. We have all come across pickles whether it be pickled onions or Dill pickles. These food items are put into vinegar and then put into jars. These will then keep fresh because the vinegar prevents the growth of micro organisms which would usually make these foods go off over time. Modern pickled onions should be the same but I suspect these days that vinegar may just be added to the jars for flavoring rather than as a preservative. Other uses for vinegar included cleaning in the home, polishing metals and killing weeds. I regularly use vinegar to clean windows and mirrors where it can remove dirt as well as all those annoying smears. Vinegar is also used extensively in the preparation of foods such as salad dressings, some curries and sweet and sour dishes.
Apple cider vinegar is a totally natural product. However, you should be aware that other vinegars may be produced by chemical means and these are not considered to be natural products at all. This type of vinegar is referred to as non brewed condiment and is often used in Fish and chip shops in the UK. Apple cider vinegar on the other hand is simply cider that has gone off. We all know that leaving a bottle of wine open will cause it to go off and have a bitter taste. This is the bitter taste of the vinegar as it forms in the wine from the alcohol. This is because vinegar bacteria get into the wine and cause it to change the alcohol in it into the substance that we know as vinegar. In the same way vinegar bacteria get into cider and then make that change into vinegar. Vinegar is an acid. The acid is weak and of the same nature as lemon juice. These weak acids can be used in food because they won’t cause any harm to the human body. This is in contrast to strong acids such as those in car batteries which are very corrosive and will even burn the skin if they get onto it. Although vinegar doesn’t burn you can certainly feel it stinging if it gets into any cuts on your hands and fingers or the eyes. The acid in vinegar is called acetic acid and has a different structure to the weak citric acid found in fruits such as lemons and oranges.
The important basic fact about apple cider vinegar is that it comes from apples. As stated earlier vinegar can be made from any other alcoholic drinks and as such you will more than likely have come across wine vinegar and the more common malt vinegar. I guess you could consider malt vinegar as beer that has gone off. Because apple cider vinegar is based on apples it means that all of the
