Chapter 1: Get Started With Golf Lessons
Get started the right way from the very beginning. Get some golf lessons for a certified Golf Instructor. The lessons are not that expensive and will keep you from picking up the bad habits you could inherit from well-meaning friends or would- be teachers.
Golf courses are full of average players who think they know all the answers - And they are all too willing to offer swing tip advice. While they have good intentions, they can actually do great damage to your game.
Golf is a game of subtle and precise movements. The smallest deviation can result in a miss hit shot. Take the time to learn the fundamentals well and spend time at the range practicing what your golf pro has taught you.
Even the pros go back for lessons to improve their game so don’t be embarrassed if you hit a slump and need to get back to your pro. They have a trained eye and the ability to communicate any adjustments that may need to be made.
The golf pro will teach you the basic concepts of each shot. But you shouldn’t expect to convert a good swing concept into muscle memory without going to the practice range to hit balls – over and over again.
Being on the first tee is not the time or place to think about techniques. You should address the components of your swing during your practice sessions. On the tee you should concentrate on where you want the ball to go.
You will find yourself watching professional players on TV. Don’t try to copy their swing style. Each golfer is different in size, shape, strength and height. What works for one won’t necessary work for you. There is no single perfect swing, but there is a fundamental swing model and your golf pro will make sure you adjust that swing model with your body type and capabilities in mind. Once again, it comes down to taking a few lessons from a certified Golf Professional.
Chapter 2: Benefits of Golfing
If you play the game with the right frame of mind, you’ll find golf to be enjoyable and relaxing as you walk the course and enjoy the beautiful scenery and local wild life you’ll encounter.
Golfing is good exercise too. On the shorter courses you should try to walk the course with a pull cart for your clubs. But even on the longer courses where an electric cart is required, you’ll
