    Today’s economy has forced many of us to look into alternative options for supplementing our income. We have all seen the rise in part time opportunities such as writing for Associated Content or selling cosmetics through Avon. There is also a rise in the rate at which many of the unemployed are turning to freelancing as an opportunity to earn a living. Online employment middleman Elance, for example, is experiencing record growth: up more than 50% overall year-over-year with more than 48,000 jobs posted in the last 30 days alone, and more than $300 million in total freelancer earnings since 2007 (Lewis, 2011).

    This book is not meant to guarantee employment, but rather to help put you in a position to prepare for and handle the interview process so you can have a better chance at landing a job. The freelance industry has some fierce competition and in cases with remote jobs, selling your skills is not always easy. When it comes to freelancing it can be a hit or miss type of scenario. You absolutely will not see an overnight success, but if you truly want this and can apply the effort you can make a decent living as a freelance
