About this ebook
Sensei Peter Freedman’s light-hearted view of the development of martial arts, past and present, gives us an appreciation for what has been done, and anticipation of what is still to be discovered. Sensei Freedman’s diverse, real-world martial arts experience is shocking and even frightening at times, but he has taken the high road at every opportunity and gone on to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the mayor of Boston for outstanding contributions to the city. Since the age of 15, he has been helping troubled youths get off the streets of Boston and out of gangs, teaching them to strengthen their mind, spirit, and body.

Introduction
This book is derived from a dialog with Sensei Peter Freedman in February of 2011. As part of the Martial Arts Lineage Project, this discussion revolves around the development of Mr. Freedman’s own unique method of teaching Ketsugo Jujutsu. Grandmaster Freedman kindly invited me to his home in New Hampshire for tea and donuts for this conversation that is sure to be enlightening and thought provoking for any martial artist.
He discusses his own riveting, sometimes horrifying, upbringing in the fighting world and how he managed to stay out of real trouble on the streets of Boston. He offers insight as to how and why the Freedman Method of Ketsugo Jujutsu was developed, what it is, and how it continues to develop and evolve as a living and thriving martial art.
About Grandmaster Peter Freedman
Sensei Peter Freedman is a master teacher of Freedman’s Method of Ketsugo Jujutsu, the lineage holder and Guro Director / Grandmaster of the Boston Arnis club, and founder of the Freedman Method of Ketsugo Jujutsu system/method. Sensei Freedman has trained Sky Marshals, Department of Defense, Special Forces, Marines, Airborne, Mountain Soldiers, LEO, EP, and some CIA agents in the use of martial skills.
As a hard-luck kid himself with a painful and emotional childhood, Peter managed to break the mold and see above violence and crime to make his own way. Since the age of 15, he has been bringing troubled youths off the streets of Boston and out of gangs, teaching them to strengthen their mind, spirit, and body. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from Mayor Raymond Flynn of Boston, Massachusetts, for outstanding contributions to the city of Boston.
Sensei Freedman now runs a private dojo/school in the woods of New Hampshire teaching his own unique blend of applicable fighting skills.
Everything I teach you is baloney until you understand it and comprehend it and make it work for yourself then it becomes your reality, it’s no longer baloney
