Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I think I have a personal tie with Raid and Creed as to which one is the best in the series so far. I think Raid took me back to Chace and Faith from Breathe and that was just was hell of a story, just like this one. Once again, KA has the amazing talent to bring together these awesome characters, with all their flaws and their respective incredible good and the story just transforms itself. Raid and Hanna kicked some serious butt together and that freaking epilogue gets to me EVERY FREAKING TIME and this one was no different. I didn't give any of the Unifinished Hero's books five stars reviews because I thought that something was missing in them, despite the good plot and characters.

Can't say this is my favourite of the authors. Thought the heroine should have put a boot in hero's ass a little more often. He was a bit of a dick. More than just 'omg, he's so alpha and I forgive him' kind of dick. More like, dude you're a dick and I don't like you. I felt like it ended really abruptly too. Suddenly it was over and I thought maybe I'd skipped some pages. I think for a better read, I'd stick to some of her other books. Try Motorcycle Man or Mystery Man.

I didn't enjoy this book like I have so many of Ashley's books. The heroine was too much of a doormat to pair well with the over-the-top alpha hero. Plus that whole crawling scene left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I won't be reading the other books in this series.

If I had to choose one word to sum up RAID it would be: RUSHED

This book was short, too short for the story line, it was very rushed, the whole thing was fast paced, but not in a good way. Don't get me wrong I loved the book, but it could have been so much better, so much more than it was. I was actually pretty disappointed in this book, I loved it, but it was not up to KA standards in my opinion. It was not what I felt the teaser chapters promised it to be, what KA's previous work promised it would be. I'm giving it 4 stars because I did like it a lot, but I was very disappointed.

4.5 Stars! She gets me, Kristen Ashley just gets me. She knows sometimes I need a stand alone book that is part of a series where I get to revisit some of my favorite characters and she gives me an epilogue that makes me cry happy tears. She writes a gorgeous story, if you have not read the other books in this series you should treat yourself and start with Knight and then hit up Creed and then you'll be ready for all the hotness that is Raiden Ulysses Miller. This book follows the perfect Alpha male love story mold that only Ms Ashley has perfected. Even though I always have an idea of what I am going to get in a Kristen Ashley story, I am always happily surprised that every book is fresh and provides a lost in book love feeling. It is so hard to find a book that has believable sexy hot guy dialogue, I have read my fair share of romance/new adult and there is nothing sexy about bad dialouge. Ms Ashley's men have mastered sexy hot guy speak. This reader buys every word without a single eye roll or shouts of 'seriously, who talks like that?'

I loved Hanna, I wanted to be Hanna, I wanted Hanna's bike. I love to be surprised in a book so I stop reading now if you have not finished this one. I loved the misunderstanding of how Hanna and Raid get together and stay together. It is hot and sweet and I loved them but I will add that it felt a little rushed this time around. I felt like there may have been scenes that were cut that may be fun to have back. I wanted to see Hanna meet Raids' crew and peek in on the first bring home the girlfriend family dinner. I needed more on the hunt for the bad guys that hurt Hanna and her business. I love the suspense Ms Ashley is able to build in her books and felt this one wasn't as fleshed out as in some other titles. I yearned for a Raid POV in the epilogue, like a wedding day or a we're having a baby moment. I loved the bad news scene...really closed the story in the right way.

Oh My. I did not know how I would feel about this book. This is the third installment of the Unfinished Hero's series. I have not read the other books and the way Ms. Ashley writes, you do not need to. *Though I am sure it would be helpful with back stories*

    How shall I begin...
Once upon a time, there was a young girl who knew she fell in love with a handsome gentleman at first sight. Though he never notice her, due to her plain hair and sweet untouchable features. For months she waited to be noticed and seen by this gentleman, going as far as stalking (mildly: showing up at his sister cafe everyday to see him *hey, it's a public establishment* lol).

One day, this gentleman engages in a smooch fest with a lady caller, and our young maiden can no longer take being unnoticed. Our lady protagonist makes some serious changes to herself, outwardly and inwardly. She finds new passions in life and learns to treat herself and accentuate her god given features.

Once the change has occurred, it is like all the movies, "She's all that", "Can't buy me love", "Beauty and the Beast", "the ugly duckling", or modern talk shows "From Geek to Sheek (urban meaning: Hot!)". Basically, she gets noticed.

I loved this book. The highs and lowers, the honesty and humility. This story is so amazing with it's depiction of the real world, in various elements. I can't say that it is true "said events" but it was fab for me.

Oh the sporting players in this were awesome. I love her best friend and Grandma is Hil-ar-ious.

This is a great read and I will be reading this again. I only wish I had more of this book, because I love the characters.

This was a "quiet" book. As I mulled over what I would write for this review, I realised the differences in Ashley's books. The impact of the book varies directly with the personality of the hero. No other author I have read has been able to accomplish this feat.

Raid, was definately an alpha but not a leader. He runs his own life exactly the way he wants, but isn't afraid to allow changes in the plans. The book did not directly involve his work. The focus was on his home life. This provided a more "quiet" story that matched the hero's personality.

It was the perfect way to relate the tale to give the reader a better feel for who Raid was.

Hanna is a cutsy girl who has had a crush on Raid for most our her life. It is a dream's come true kind of book. There is a cost, but she willingly pays it, resulting in warm,or touching or hot hot passion scenes.

Ashley, I believe, willingly sacraficed one star for impact just so that the reader got a true feeling for her hero. I loved Raid in a much different way than readers love her other heros. There is definately room for "quiet". A remarkable book.

This has to be one of the best books in this series that characters touched emotions in each other that made it a truly beautiful story about family and love; all with an alpha male

A man should not tell a woman" then don't back talk ". She is a pushover and he is a jerk who can't talk in complete sentences.

Another great read from KA, I love the way the men in her books speak to their women, totally all Alpha male at its extreme!
There is a case of opposites attract in this book. I love losing myself in these romances :)

Raid is the third book in the Unfinished Hero series. Hanna Boudreaux has "crushed on" former Marine hero, Raiden Miller since she was six, but has just about given up on him being the man of her dreams when she begins seeing him everywhere. When he shows up at her great-grandmother's house offering to take care of her lawn, Hanna begins to think that maybe she has a chance with him after all.
This story does a better job than the other books in the Unfinished Hero series of telling a linear story that is clearly about the romance between the two main characters. The subplot involving the other Unfinished Heroes including Knight and Creed isn't brought up until the end of the story, making it easier to follow into the next book, Deacon. Overall, this is a much better entry in the Unfinished Heroes series.

Can I just hit repeat here and say HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY LOVE KRISTEN ASHLEY !!!!!!! I love her writing , I LOVE her alpha men , I LOVE her story line .. I LOVE everything about KA !!!!! If you have not read this series yet you seriously need to get to it NOW .. KA knows how to pull you in and keep you there until the last page turns and your still wanting more ..

    "ABSOFUCKINGMAZING"

I truly hope this is not going to be the last Unfinished Hero !!!!

I LOVE Raiden ,I LOVED how he was a "hero" in this book, although I did not think he was much of an unfinished one. I think he just needed help with dealing with all he had been through, and Hanna Guided him and helped him to get through those demons.

I LOVED Hanna ,I loved how sweet, innocent, caring, loving, I loved EVERYTHING about her. I want to be girl in one of KA's stories JUST so I can truly experience all the ALPHA MEN LOL ...

I LOVED Hanna’s Great Grandmother, Miss Mildred , that woman warmed my heart with everything that she said . She was a very wise woman and she showed Hanna just how wise she was .

    “You’re in love with me?”…
    “Absolutely”

    Too quiet.

    This has some BDSM.

“If you’re the kind of woman who can withstand the blaze of hellfire he’s got burning inside, he battles that and wins, you will know nothing for the rest of your life, no taste, no experience, not even the birth of your children that will be sweeter than the love he’ll have for you”

    “You’re my reward, Hanna.”
