Author

Patrick Dilloway

The life of Patrick Dilloway has been far less exciting and complicated than that of Frost Devereaux. Patrick grew up in the small town of Laporte, Michigan, where much of his family still resides. He graduated from Midland High School and then Saginaw Valley State University with an accounting degree. He still lives in Michigan, where he writes novels such as this when not chained to his desk, balancing debits and credits.

There are a lot of ways you might imagine meeting The One, but you probably never imagine finding her washed up naked on a freezing winter night. This is what happens to Gary Sinclair and sets into motion a sequence of events that transform his life forever.

Though he's only 26, Gary lives more like someone who's 66, living in semi-retirement in his father's cabin in Dagger Lake, Michigan. Gary has exiled himself there after losing the love of his life, Andrea. He figures up in Dagger Lake, where most of the year-round population is elderly, he'll never have to worry about love again. But he's wrong!

One night while patrolling the lake for litter, Gary finds a beautiful--and naked--woman lying half-frozen on the beach. He takes her in and cares for her. When she wakes up, she has no memory of who she is or how she got there. Not wanting her to go to a mental hospital or psych ward, Gary keeps the woman with him. Because she looks much like the girl he loved, he calls her Andrea.

The first half of the story then is Gary and Andrea searching for clues about her past. This takes them around Michigan, from the northeast all the way down to Grand Rapids. In the process, Gary finds himself falling in love with Andrea, and she with him.

The second half of the story has Gary and Andrea marrying. This is virgin territory for both of them. Can their miraculous love survive the challenges of marriage? And what about Andrea's past?

I think the easiest way to sum up what this book is like would be to say it's like "The Notebook" but with a bit more edge and very small amount of the paranormal. And it's probably a lot cheaper!

    That is all.
