About this ebook
On the air Buzz Berrigan, the talk show host of Sound-Off, is courteous, friendly, and unflappable. Off the air, however, he displays a different persona.

Although I’ve made my living as a teacher and guidance counselor, I’ve always had a passion for writing. Thomas Bouregy and Company published my novel, Return to Paradise Cove, under their Avalon imprint. Two of my one-act plays, A Different Kind of Death, and The Flirt, have been produced, respectively, in New Haven, Connecticut, and Sacramento, California. Short stories of mine have appeared in commercial magazines such as Action and True Romance as well as in certain literary and professional ones.

Buzz Berrigan, the talk-show host of Sound-Off, is seated at a console in a radio studio. Wearing a headset and facing a microphone, he's ready to go on the air.
BUZZ This is Sound-0ff with Buzz Berrigan, the talk show where you, the listener, not the host, gets a chance to sound off about what's going on in the country and the world. The only rule we have here is: No profanity, please. Because Sound-Off prides itself on being informative and educational as well as entertaining, I reserve the right, whenever necessary, to act as official fact-checker-in-charge and, as such, to correct any misinformation going out over the air. After all, there's enough pollution out there without us here at Sound-Off adding to it. So, to quote the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, You are entitled to your own opinions. But you are not entitled to your own facts.
Enough of my soliloquy; let's get on with it. Joe, you're on the air with Buzz Berrigan.
JOE In 1986 Ronald Reagan, signed into law a sweeping immigration reform bill, which, supposedly, included provisions for beefing up border security and penalizing businesses that hire undocumented workers. What a fiasco! Now, with twelve million illegals here, we're back to square one and the powers that be are getting ready to pass another such bill. Meanwhile, I'm about to become a member of the white minority.
BUZZ What do you suggest the government do with them? Put them into prison or send them back to where they came from?
JOE Either one
