    Chapter 1: Early Days

Happiness is a state of mind. The man who had faced numerous struggles in life learnt through his experiences that moments make the life that he has been given. It is the moment that is the only reality. The moment now is the present, everything else has either gone into the past or waiting in the future. What he has with him is now, the moment. So why not enjoy this moment and be happy?

Kabir was just another kid next door. He had his dates with daydreams, missing doing the homework and playing cricket on the sidewalks near his house. Mischief was his primary skill during early days in his childhood. He did not like eating the green vegetables and the healthy food that was being prescribed. He was more interested in the junk that made his mother flare up at times.

Growing up was not so simple. The needs of the family kept him on his toes. He had to think of ways to support the family. With odd jobs during the day in his kitty, he had to miss his college classes to earn money. He learnt the meaning of value very early in his life. As much as money had its value, so did a man. He asked himself numerous times, What is my value? What is my worth?

In college the professors liked him for being focused in class. They knew why he was missing classes and helped him with his lessons. Kabir learnt that people would help him if he made an honest and dedicated pursuit. His friends were either jealous of him, or proud of him, but mostly proud. Folks at work also saw Kabir as a person who was responsible and accountable. When Kabir says it will be done, it will be done!

    Chapter 2: The Unwind Zone

The interiors in the big room were designed by a professional, but a long time back. The paint on the wall had signs of aging and the few framed paintings on the wall had been hanging on those nails for years. The famous photograph of Marilyn Monroe was a sight to behold in the form of a huge poster on one of the walls. The light was somewhat dim and a reddish tinge made the place look a little melancholy.

Kabir had just entered the place where he liked to unwind once every week. He took his favourite table and chair that were reserved for him on this day. He had been a regular here for more than ten years. People questioned
