      It had been a long-ass, back-breaking week. Of course, working construction did not usually make for an easy one, especially under the burning August sun. I couldn’t complain, though. At 31, I was the foreman for Hancock Construction - the number one builders in New Orleans. Even though I was the foreman in charge of operations, I did my share of hard work. Luckily, my boss, Mr. Reynolds Hancock, gave me free reign. That was a good thing. After all, I didn’t like getting orders...I liked giving them....

      It was Friday at 5:45 in the afternoon. All of the guys had clocked out at 5:00, and I was on my fourth beer from the fridge in the office trailer on our new construction site, which was another mini-mall or some kind of shit like that.

      I was too damn young to be this sore. After work, I had stripped down to my tank top, jeans and boots. Every muscle in my 6 foot, 4 inch frame was aching, and my dogs were barking in my sized 16 cowboy boots. With my feet propped up on a foot stool, I was watching the local news and just kicking back on the old sofa in the office trailer. Despite the fact that hanging out at work was a little sad, it wasn’t like a hot bottom to go home to...anymore.

      Just a month ago, my boy, Tommy, and I had broken up. We had only been together for a few months, but I had grown a little attached to him. He was young, though. 19 and just discovering the gay scene...the good, the bad and the ugly.... I reckoned that Tommy had his fill of being my submissive bottom boy and doing as I told him. Instead, he had made some new friends and decided that he wanted to go out and party every single night in The French Quarter. Sure, I liked to drink and have a good time, but a man with a full-time job can’t keep up with that pace. Hell, I didn’t even want to.

      When a submissive boy stops being doing what his top tells him, he ain’t much of a submissive anymore.

      I missed Tommy, but it hadn’t been a love thing. Maybe one day it could’ve been. Fuck it. It was said and done now.

      Anyway, I was pondering going out to scope me out a new boy. I wouldn’t be by myself, though. I did still had plenty of old friends out there to have some beers with. Still, it sounded like a hell-uva lot of work to me. Damn, was I getting old after all?

      Opening my fifth canned beer and sitting back down with my feet propped up in front of the small black and white TV, I heard the door to the trailer open. I looked across the small mobile office and spotted the short, broad-shouldered frame of Hardy Hancock coming through the door frame.

      Hardy Hancock was a gorgeous boy. At 18, he stood at 5 foot, 9. He had black,
