    Dedication

Seed of Hope (Vol 2) is dedicated to all my readers, who have inspired me to write the 2nd volume. Your support to my first volume has been encouraging. Thank you for sowing a Seed of Hope to me as a new writer. I want to dedicate this book to you.

Also special thanks to Jeremy Taylor and Christopher Yeo. They have respectively helped me in the cover image design and editorial works. Introduction

Hi guys, I am back! =)

Thank you for your support in my previous book, Seed of Hope (Vol 1). I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed writing the 40 daily articles in the first volume and the process of publishing the eBook.

Since then, I have continued writing daily devotional articles. Right now, I am really excited to share with you the second volume, Seed of Hope (Vol 2). These 40 articles (i.e. Article 41 to 80) contained my daily thoughts and meditations on the Word of God. I prayed that through these articles, I will be able to sow a Seed of Hope into your heart and empower you to live a victorious life in Jesus Christ.

In Seed of Hope (Vol 2), I have specially written a series of articles on the life of Joseph. The revelations in these articles series are based on my recent reading and meditation on the book of Genesis. I believe through these articles, you will be able to identify with Joseph on some of his struggles in life and find hope/strength for yourself.

No matter what circumstances you may be in, I believe you have the divine ability to overcome them all through Jesus Christ. I feel strongly an inclination to write devotional articles based on my daily bible reading and quiet time, with the purpose to encourage you in your walk with God. That is how these two volumes have come about. I urge you to download them and be greatly blessed by the revelations in these articles.

If you have yet to download my first volume, you can still download this 2nd volume to read first. You are free to read the articles in whatever order you want to (except for the articles series on Joseph). The revelations in all these articles are time-tested truths that will encourage you for the season of life you are now in.

After finishing this volume, if you have been greatly blessed by my articles, you can consider downloading the first volume as well. You may refer to the last page of this book for the link to my profile page.

I pray that you will receive a Seed of Hope for your life.

    In Christ,

    S Long

    Article 41 - Our Identity

    Read Colossians 3:12-17

"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;" (v. 12)

In Colossians 3:12-17, Paul was writing to the Christians to develop godly character (i.e. tender mercies, kindness, etc.), and to choose to put on love in their lives. But what was interesting was that even before Paul mentioned these qualities, he identified a Christian in verse 12 as:

    1. Elect of God: Chosen by Him

    2. Holy: Set apart for God

    3. Beloved: Loved by Him

Wow! As a child of God, we are all uniquely chosen by Him, set apart for Him and loved by Him! Every single one of us!

This means before you even consider the godly character you are to develop in your life, Paul wants you to be aware of your standing and identity in God. I believe this is important because having this understanding will give you a correct perception of who you are in Christ. If you have the correct perception, you will know how to live your life.

For example, if you perceive yourself as a nobody, a scum or a worthless person, you will not make choices in your life that lead to greatness
