      I am a sucker for a scarred hero and this story was right up my alley. This story proved to me that this author can write complex and deep, three-dimensional characters and still have the story be entertaining and fun.

      My heart went out to Lydia, once I got to know her true nature.

      This series is coming to an end soon and I can honestly say that this author is now firmly on my keeper shelf.

      Lord Jason Lockwood is thought by society to be mad, among many other things, and most definitely a scoundrel.Determined to learn more of his half brother's sudden appearance at and with widow Lady Aldridge, he meets Lady Lydia at the gate to the widow's home.Lydia Prewitt doesn't get suitors really. Most likely due to her aunt's vicious gossip. But she is instantly drawn to Lord Lockwood. His scars add more to his appeal to her. But her aunt plans to use Lydia to plot his downfall. The question is, will Lydia be able to go through with it....This is the first novel I have read by this author and I enjoyed it. The chemistry between the two main character is there, the story was good...I would recommend it.I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.
