About this ebook

Catherine Boyd will do anything to regain custody of her young son . . . Even reconcile with the husband accused of killing their son’s twin.

Catherine graduates from college, eager to start a new life with her six-year-old son, Drew. But when she tries to bring him home, her parents refuse to relinquish control of the grandson they’d raised.
Wrongly accused of a horrible crime, Thomas Boyd has buried himself in his career, determined to forget his painful past and the family he lost. But now, five years later, Catherine is back, requesting his help to regain custody of their son — custody he thought she had.
Though older and wiser, when courtroom battles reveal lies and secrets and generations of pain, will Thomas and Catherine find more tragedy and loss, or will old wounds finally heal?

What an extraordinary story this was!

I loved the complexity of the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed a perfect pace the author set in telling the tale.

There are such wonderful twists and turns to this story, that I was in a constant state of anxiety!

The author masterfully controls my emotions which are running a gamut from sadness, frustration and elation.

I rarely leave my Regency world, but when I do, this is the book I leave it for!

“He Belongs To Me” is a refreshingly pleasant read packed full of emotion from cover to cover. I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but it quickly drew me in and held me riveted throughout. I found it to be very well written, which is something I don’t find too often in today’s offerings.Catherine Boyd has had her share of heartbreak and struggle in her young life. Yet she is determined to create a successful and happy life for herself and her young son, Drew. At times the odds have certainly seemed insurmountable, but Catherine has an indomitable spirit of determination. Married while still nearly a child herself to escape manipulative and abusive parents; her marriage seems doomed from the start when they put themselves in care of those same parents. Thomas, Catherine’s vibrant and caring husband; is the target of his in-law’s dislike and power plays. After accusations made by Catherine’s mother concerning the sudden death of Thomas and Catherine’s fragile infant son; Thomas has very little choice but to break away from the poisonous atmosphere created by Catherine’s parents and try to get his life back on track. While, in truth, he is abandoning Catherine and their remaining infant son; he must put a distance between himself and the tragic events that have just transpired. He has been accepted in a prestigious university program and has determined to set a course to future security.Catherine, in the meantime, succumbs yet again to her parents’ manipulations, and unknowingly signs away her parental rights to her son, Drew. Believing they have she and her son’s best interests in mind, she lets her father talk her into completing her education thousands of miles away from their Chicago area home while her parents care for her son. Her parents’ treachery and true intentions are discovered immediately upon Catherine’s graduation, just as she prepares to make a home for herself and her son and launch into her new career to support them. Now Catherine finds herself facing a dark chasm, where she must face her deepest fears and confront them head on. She must re-open wounds from the past causing a great deal of pain to herself and those she loves. She must face her husband once again, as she cannot regain her son without his support and she cannot face life without her son. With their turbulent past under scrutiny, will they be able to overcome the overwhelming odds and hurdles to regain custody of their son? Is there any chance they can heal the deep hurts from the past and have a loving relationship again; is there any chance at all for them to renew their marriage and regain custody of Drew; to be the loving family that they had always wanted to be?This story is bound to tug at your heart strings as you live through the turmoil and pain that Catherine must face in order to redeem herself and her family. It won’t let you go until the final pages reveal the denouement to this touching and emotional saga.I definitely recommend “He Belongs To Me” and look forward to reading other works by Theresa Rizzo.

This novel evoked so many emotions, I felt wrung out when I was finished. It was like watching a train, knowing it was going to leave the tracks, and there is nothing you can do but watch it happen. The story opens introducing us to Catherine Boyd, an extremely happy young woman on her graduation day from Stanford. Her graduation is not the only thing bringing her joy, she will be reunited with her son, Andrew, called Drew. He has been living with her parents in Chicago, so Catherine could concentrate on her studies full time. She has seen Drew as much as she possibly could, and they spoke by phone almost daily. Now he would be joining her in California, where she has a growing clientele for her handmade jewelry, sold in a friend's boutique . But her life is about to jump the track. Catherine's parents have decided that Drew would be better staying with them in Chicago. They can provide him with the best of everything. Catherine had signed a custody agreement , letting her parents be guardians for Drew till she was graduated and on her own. The confrontation with her Mom and Dad and further consultation with an attorney shows that the papers were never drawn up as temporary. The only solution was to move to her parents home, which was unthinkable , or find her estranged husband ( they were never divorced) and try to prove she can provide a good home for Drew.Thomas Boyd and Catherine fell in love and married very young. Her parents disapproved, but agreed to help. After a tragic accident, Thomas was falsely accused of a crime, and pushed out of Catherine's life. They agreed to each finish school and restart their life together then. Somehow the time never came.Thomas had graduated from the University of Michigan, and was now an up and coming financial analyst. The first time they met to discuss what to do, Catherine had an immediate reaction. "Just being with Thomas bombarded her with confusing feelings of warmth, security , happiness , misery and betrayal, all dusted with with this crackling electric attraction".This is an amazing novel that has everything. It is an emotional roller coaster ride, and you can't put it down! So many lies, unexpected suspense and love, all in the name of a sweet little boy. I highly recommend this novel, I finished it in a day. In my opinion, this novel deserves five very bright stars!

Where do I start? I just could not put this book down, loved the characters, storyline and main subject of the book. I don't like to tell all about the book in a review, just give my opinion of it. I haven't read a book lately that held my attention so intently until this book. I too would like to see a follow up book about Catherine and Thomas and how they could possibly heal as a family with Catherine's parents. I'm not sure that is possible as it would be very hard without a lot of forgiveness on Catherine and Thomas's part but for the sake of Drew and Ellissa it might happen. I will definitely will read more books by Theresa Rizzo. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review it. I hope everyone who reads it likes it as much as I did.

He Belongs To Me By Theresa RizzoBook starts out with Catherine graduating and she can't wait to be reunited with her young son, Drew. The temporary custody she gave her parents years ago they have now turned into legal guardians for the boy. She'd have to move back to Chicago to get her son and give up her whole life and reunite with her husband who's she not seen nor legally separated from.As the book goes back in time to when Catherine and Thomas had brought the twin newborns home we find out other details...Court trials...returned letters...death.This is a painful journey for me as my son was not returned after his father had weekend visits. Shame you have to not only get the police involved but the court system. She and Tom come up with a plan to get Drew back but Tom won't leave this time, if it works..So many things come out in the trial that not many knew of and it helps explain everything.I enjoyed reading all about the depositions and other legal things as I didn't go through any of that, interesting to find out the process and the paramedic training that comes up.Like the romantic sex scenes...Catherine and Tom both have friends that help support them through the difficult time. The family is so damaged I don't think they can ever recover from the harm done..but they are a forgiving group..I received this book from Library Thing via the author in exchange for my honest opinion

I am so glad that I read this book. It was raw and emotional. I caught my self getting so involved with this book I was late to work. You know that it is a good story line when you become emotionally involved with the characters. The only bad thing that I can say is I wanted to know more about the characters. I wish there was an epilogue about 5 yrs into the future. I am looking forward to reading more from Theresa Rizzo.
