About this ebook

You will discover that learning how to read Chinese using Pinyin under each character is surprisingly easy and does not have to be a laborious task.
Learning verbs are the essential ingredients to learning this language because most verbs in Chinese can be adopted as nouns without actually having to change the word structure as we do in English. The 888 verbs were carefully chosen with this in mind so that the learner had an arsenal of words that would be enough to immediately begin communicating in Mandarin Chinese.
It is advised to use this book with "Basic Chinese For Beginners! Your First Mandarin Book" or any of the Mandarin Chinese The Right Way! eBooks.
However, if you are already at a beginner’s level and have a basic understanding of how to make a sentence, then this book is for you.

In Mandarin Chinese The Right Way! 888 Chinese Verbs, you will learn 888 of the most useful verbs needed to begin speaking, reading and writing Mandarin Chinese so that you can become an advanced learner of the language.

Learning verbs intensely will give you a solid foundation of words for you to really understand how to make any sentence and you will quickly be able to read, write and converse in Mandarin Chinese.

You will discover that learning how to read Chinese using Pinyin under each character is surprisingly easy and doesn’t have to be a laborious task.

It is advised to use this book with Learning Mandarin Chinese The Right way! Volume 1 & 2 or any of the Speak Mandarin Chinese The Right Way! eBooks.

However, if you are already at a beginner’s level and have a basic understanding of how to make a sentence, then this is book is for you.

How to use this book

If you are learning from the Learning Mandarin Chinese The Right way! or any of the Speak Mandarin Chinese The Right Way! eBooks, then you already have a strong understanding of how to make sentences correctly. Therefore, you can immediately jump right in and start learning!

Try to make sentences with words you already know combined with the verbs in this book. Begin with short sentences and don’t try to make your sentences too complex. Everyday Mandarin Chinese is spoken like this anyway. Sentences are usually short and to the point and instead of making an elaborate and informative single sentence, it is separated into several sentences to convey the same point.

Past, present and future or sentences are not a major concern in Mandarin Chinese and while there are ways to make your sentences more grammatically correct, you don’t have to change the verb like in English.

This is also the same for simple, continuous and perfect tenses, and again, verbs in Mandarin Chinese will not be changed.

An excellent way of learning how to read Chinese quickly and efficiently without the laborious task of having to write out each character is to use your computer.

Type the sentences that are provided in this book into Microsoft Word using the Chinese (Simplified, PRC). When opening up Chinese in your Language Settings, choose Chinese Simplified Microsoft Pinyin ABC Input Style. I find this one the easiest to use and the Pinyin is very accurate.

Pronunciation

Before you start, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the tones and sounds that are used in Mandarin Chinese. Use the two Pinyin tables and the Mandarin Tones table provided to help you and the back of this book.

Once you have a basic understanding of the sounds and how to read them in Pinyin, you are ready to begin the to learn the 888 Chinese Verbs. Pinyin is actually easy to learn and you’ll get used to it when you start reading the verbs.

Practice saying them often and say the tones slowly. Don’t slur your words. In English, sometimes we add words together when we say complete sentences.

This is not the case in Chinese. Each Chinese word is spoken separately. Be aware of this when learning to speak Mandarin Chinese. You don’t want to develop a bad habit.
