This is the 1st book in the "Chasing Cowboys" series. Rachel can't keep from loving Luke. He's a true cowboy from his dusty cowboy boots to his black Stetson. But the one thing Luke does best is leave when things heat up. Can Rachel keep him home this time? Luke has a passion for the rodeo, but he also has a passion for Rachel. Will love slip in and replace the rodeo? It’s a story of long lived Lust, Passion, Horses and one hot cowboy...
She looked on the dresser and noticed a gift with her name on it. She smiled thinking it might be a little surprise from Zach. Pulling on the ribbon, she carefully opened the box. She almost fainted when she looked inside. Nestled inside the layers of tissue paper was a crystal angel. A note card was folded under it. She pulled the note out with shaky fingers.
Before she opened the note she closed her eyes and prayed this was just a coincidence. Her heart told her she was dead wrong. Her suspicions were confirmed when she unfolded the card. Taking a slow, deep breath she read the card. “Here’s an angel for my angel. I’ll never stop loving you, NEVER. Do what’s in your heart, but don’t do this if your heart isn’t ready. Love, Your Cowboy Forever, Luke. P.S. I’ll wait for you at our special place, if you don’t show up I’ll know your heart was in it.”
Her hand covered her mouth as a sob escaped. Why’d he always do this to her? Why was she still so in love with him? Why couldn’t she just forget he ever existed? But the sad thing was she knew exactly why. He held her heart and he knew it. That’s what made this so bad, he knew all he had to do was send this angel and a note and she’d go flying back to him.

    Chapter 1

It was a beautiful spring day. Rachel was very happy because she was getting married to a wonderful man today. She’d met Zach six months ago. He’d been very kind to her. When they met, she’d been getting over the man she’d always loved.

They met at a local dance club. They danced every dance that night and started seeing each other every day. Two weeks ago, he asked her to be his wife. Rachel accepted, although she knew she’d never love him the way she loved Luke. In the back of her mind she knew it was wrong to marry one man when you loved another. She just hoped that one day she’d grow to love Zach as much.

Rachel had loved Luke for years. Every time she thought things were looking good, Luke would leave town. The relationship had never developed fully, but Rachel had fallen head over heels for Luke. He was everything she loved. He loved horses and music. But that was part of the problem, Luke was a true cowboy. They’d talk for hours. They’d grow close and then he’d leave again. The last time he left, she vowed not to fall for him again. Her heart just couldn’t take another blow, not from Luke.

Now, she was getting married. She looked in the mirror at her reflection. She’d swept her blonde hair up and let curly ringlets fall down from the top. She was wearing a lacy ankle length dress. She hadn’t wanted a fancy wedding. She just wanted a garden wedding and a simple reception.

She looked on the dresser and noticed a gift with her name on it. She smiled thinking it might be a little surprise from Zach. She pulled on the ribbon and then carefully opened the box.

Here’s an angel for my angel. I’ll never stop loving you, NEVER. Do what’s in your heart, but don’t do this if your heart isn’t ready. Love, Your Cowboy Forever, Luke. P.S. I’ll wait for you at our special place, if you don’t show up I’ll know your heart was in it.

Then she thought about Zach. He was a wonderful man. He didn’t deserve to be left at the altar. She didn’t deserve his love. He deserved a lot better than what she could give him. She looked at herself in the mirror. What now? Her reaction to the gift told her she wasn’t anywhere near ready to let go of her feelings for Luke or better said she wasn’t ready to get married, just plain and simple. She’d thought that if someone showed her love that she’d be able to forget, but her heart told her different.

Her mother would be upset, but she’d understand. She knew how she felt about Luke and had pointed that out several times while they were decorating for the wedding this morning. Her father would just say go with her heart. Matt, her brother, would know exactly what was going on. He and Luke were best friends. The rest of her friends would be alright because they knew her well enough to know she’d only do what’s right. But Zach would never forgive her. She cringed just thinking about it.

She grabbed a piece of paper from the notebook she carried around with wedding notes. She quickly wrote a note to her parents explaining she’d had a change of heart. She knew that was all they needed to know reason. She sat down to write a note to Zach. This was really tacky writing a note to the groom you were fixing to leave at the altar, but she just couldn’t face him right now.

She made the note short. "Dear Zach, I’m sorry to do this to you, but you don’t want to marry someone as messed
