    Eddie Duncan turned the corner in his old delivery truck, ashing his cigarette out the window as he rotated the steering wheel with the other hand. He straightened out the wheel, taking another drag from his cigarette. He continued slowly down the little side street, looking for the house to which he would be delivering his final package of the day. The street was empty, devoid of children playing in the street, no joggers out for an evening run. He thought it unusual to not see anybody outside in mid-summer, especially at this time.

    Eddie cranked up the radio since nobody was around, lightly banging his head to Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls. It was one of his favorite songs from growing up, well any Metallica song really. He loved rock and roll and all the sex and drugs that went along with it. He squinted his eyes at a house up ahead, thinking he saw the address he was looking for. He glanced down at his lap, swiping Doritos crumbs from his dark brown shirt as he did so, the miniscule snacks rolling down over his pudgy belly. He snatched up a piece of paper,
