About this ebook

A true Black Beauty Story.
Emma 15, Scottish Borders. Wow. I was hooked.
Sucky Garlick, I think it was the most moving book.
Mrs J M Noble, 5 out of 5.
1st book of a non-fiction trilogy of Scotland's Horsewhisperer. When Peter was looking for a new horse he went on a tour of England looking at horses. He saw a horse in Yorkshire called Nod, but continued on his journey, and was about to buy an another horse when a message flew into his brain from Nod saying "I am your horse."
This was the start of an amazing journey because Nod was a mentally traumatised horse unable to function normally, thus being a danger to both himself and Peter.
Nod required healing and Peter had to delve into all sort of therapies conventional and complimentary and finally into spiritual healing.
Also during Nod's reign with Peter, many of his companion horses also had come to Peter requiring healing.

Animals have been a major part of my life since childhood. My dogs are my shadows, three of which have returned to me a second time through reincarnation. But horses are my number ONE. They have led me on my spiritual journey.

Nod Whispers - Peter Neilson

Wow. I was hooked from the beginning, I've a bit of a problem horse and naturally have tried everything to try and solve the problems. This amazing book gave me a whole new understanding to horses' minds. It talks about the horses' past life and how this can effects problems in the present. In Peter's own unique story, he explains how he and his horses overcame problems like bolting to have the perfect safer horse. 123 pages of pure magic, a definite read for ALL horse owners. Believe me if you are open-minded, this is the book for you. Good one Peter.

As a practical, atheist animal lover currently suffering ill health, I have read various self-healing and spooky books that have affected or moved me not at all. I got to know Peter through an animal problem with which he helped enormously, and he told me about his book, which, being a horse owner, I bought immediately.

I think it was the most moving book, better even than The Incredible Journey. I know for a fact, as I passed the book to others to read, that it moved some to tears, especially Nod's end, which I personally thought was dignified and befitting the horse. I just found it inspirational to know that animals, beloved or otherwise in the past, come back through many lives. The amazing thing to me was that a down to earth, practical horseman like Peter should be led to his incredible gift in his middle years. Life works in mysterious ways.

I don't want to say too much about this remarkable book which might spoil others' pleasure in reading it for themselves; but so many horses found their way to Peter because that was where they were meant to be and it was their will to reach him and his gift that he recognised their need.

Peter has been a source of support to me in many animal related matters. When you've brick walled with vets - ask Peter.

5 out of 5 Absolutely fascinating. This book sucked me in from the beginning! Don't expect a Monty Roberts type of horse communication though - this requires a much more open mind! It is the story of this man's passion for helping his horse overcome huge problems through many ways - some, as he admits, seem unbelievable at first. Peter learns to 'talk' to animals through telepathy, and sees pictures of their problems in his mind, both in this life and in their past lives. Through these new learned abilities, Peter releases Nod's problems and also helps many other horses along the way. And yes, it all seems a little bit far fetched and it's not something that everyone would be able to do but the results speak for themselves. This man has helped turn many horses' lives around, and saved others destined for destruction. This book is well worth the read - read it and decide for yourself! It touched me in ways I did not expect, even although I knew of Peter's gifts before.

The first book of a biographical, non-fictional trilogy, of Scotland's Horsewhisperer. The second book being Alexander the Great's Horseman's Spiritual Journey. The third book being written called Hero Whispers.

Since the massive interest caused by the novel and film called The Horse Whisperer and subsequent publicised work by the likes of Monty Roberts and Linda Tellington-Jones there is great interest by the horse world universally and the general public in communicating with and healing animals. This is a true Black Beauty story and tells the story of Nod, a mentally traumatised horse, unable to behave normally and his life and times. The other essential character in this dramatic story is Peter Neilson, a Scotsman, a trained engineer and former farmer, whose conventional life from a farming background always included horses and dogs. A professional horseman and retired Joint Master of the Duke of Buccleuch's Hunt in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Trainer and Healer of Horses.

Join Peter and Nod on a journey of discovery, healing and spectacular transformation. Peter's work has been the subject of much Media interest across the United Kingdom and beyond and has featured on BBC, Channel 4, Border TV and the printed media.

The Horses' Prayer

From Richard Wilson, Ontario.

To Thee, my Master, I offer my prayer. Feed me, water and care for me and when the day's work is done, provide me with shelter, a clean dry bed and a stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort.

Always be kind to me. Talk to me. Your voice often means as much to me as the reins. Pet me sometimes, so that I may serve you more gladly and learn to love you. Do not jerk the reins and do not whip me going uphill. Never strike, beat or kick me when I do not understand what you want, but give me a chance to understand you. Watch me, and if I fail to do your bidding, see if something is wrong with my tack or feet.

Do not check me so that I cannot have the free use of my head. If you insist that I wear blinkers, so that I cannot see behind me as it was intended I should. I pray you be careful that the blinkers stand well out from my eyes.

Do not overload me, or hitch me where water will drip on me. Keep me well shod. Examine my teeth when I do not eat. I may have an ulcerated tooth and that, you know, is very painful. Do not tie, or fix my head in an unnatural position.

I cannot tell you when I am thirsty, so give me clean, cool water often. I cannot tell you in words when I am sick, so watch me, that by signs you may know my condition. Give me all possible shelter from the hot sun and put a blanket on me, not when I am working, but when I am standing in the cold. Never put a frosty bit in my mouth, first warm it by holding it a moment in your hands.

I try to carry you and your burdens without a murmur and wait patiently for you long hours of the day and night. Without the power to choose my shoes or patch, my feet sometimes fall on difficult places which I often pray may give a safe and sure footing. Remember that I must be ready at any moment to loose my life in your service.

And finally, O my Master, when my useful strength has gone, do not turn me out graze, or sell me to some cruel owner, to be slowly tortured and starved to death; but thou, my Master, take my life in the kindest way and your God will reward you here and hereafter. You will not consider me irrelevant if I ask this in the name of him who was born in a stable.

Foreword

You are about to embark on a wondrous journey. Nod's story is a remarkable one, a pilgrimage to a sacred place - that of wholeness. As you read this, you will learn of Nod's lifetimes filled with hardship, pain, suffering and trauma. You will read how Peter became aware of other horses' traumas as Nod's story unfolded. However, this book isn't about pain and suffering. It is about how lifetimes of pain can be transmuted and healed when humans and horses come together to heal.

Peter Neilson's perseverance and commitment to this beautiful horse is an inspiration. What began as a simple question of solving a horse's behavior problem, evolved into the incredible journey into wholeness for both the man and the horse. The path was fraught with strange and unusual twists and turns. Peter, a practical, no nonsense, down-to-earth fellow was drawn into experiencing non-physical realities and past life experiences perhaps never dreamed of. Still, he persevered, never giving up on finding a way to help Nod, no matter how weird or way out the option appeared to be!
