Bumblebees Are Contagious!

About this ebook
Dusty set eyes on Taylor and he knew she was the woman for him. It didn’t matter what his friends said about her. He knew she wasn’t an air head. It was jealousy that drove them into saying that. Dusty needed to find out a lot more about Taylor who was sitting eyeing him out. And then her father stepped into the restaurant. A blessing in disguise. Dusty sat and eavesdropped as Aaron and Taylor chatted. He took note of every single detail. If they were going to go and see the Bumblebees so would he. It could be a live band that they would see. It could be a display of bees. It could be anything. But Dusty would be there. Taylor sat and looked at Dusty. He stood out from the crowd. It was the first time that she had actually seen a man that took her fancy. With his ultra smart suit and his bright blue shirt. She couldn’t take her eyes off of him. Aaron noticed the little glances and decided to take matters into his own hands. Neither Dusty nor Taylor realized what would follow.

CHAPTER 1
Willis shook his head. That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard.
David nodded. Why would anyone even think of that? We are here to do a job. Not give little handouts.
Peter shook his head. I don’t know how that woman’s brain ticks. Give little chocolates with the weekly pay packet? It is Easter. Easter is for kids. Not a workforce. If you got a chocolate what would you think?
Charles grinned. I wouldn’t. I would eat it. One gulp and it is gone.
They all grinned as they looked at Charles. Dusty walked up to the table. He looked at everyone. Oh this looks like a huddle. Do tell.
They all grinned as he took a seat. Willis chuckled. We have this woman. Oh don’t look now but she is coming for coffee. She better not join us. No thanks.
Dusty looked up as Taylor walked past. She didn’t acknowledge the men. She walked straight past and sat at the table behind them. Dusty stared. He had never before seen such a beautiful woman. He watched as the waiter walked up and took her order.
Willis looked at Dusty. Dusty? Are you with us?
Dusty nodded and looked at Willis. We have just come out of our monthly meeting. Right.
Dusty nodded. Okay.
They all leaned forward. The air head suggests that we include a little chocolate with the pay packets for Easter.
Dusty leaned back and nodded. That is a good idea.
They all looked at Dusty. David shook his head. What is the point? They do the hours. We get our cut. I honestly don’t see the point. All it would do is cost. And we would have to carry the cost. Dumb. That is an air head if ever I met one.
Peter shook his head. She brings in all the big jobs. I don’t know how. Must have a talent that we don’t have.
Dusty shook his head. That is low Peter.
Well she does. An air head like that.
Dusty looked at the men. I am looking. And she has been on the phone the whole time. And out comes the laptop.
Willis turned and Taylor looked up and smiled. He turned away. It is Friday. School is out. Probably arranging her social life.
Dusty shook his head. With her notepad out. On the phone. And reading something on her laptop. Somehow I think she might be working.
They all shook their heads. Willis shook his head. That is an air head. Nothing much going on in that head of hers. She might have the degrees and all of that. But she doesn’t think.
Dusty smiled and looked at the men. He kept on looking at her. He smiled as he looked over. She had put the phone down and was reading something on the laptop. He looked at her and she looked up and smiled. He felt something in his body shift. He felt as if she was looking deep in to his soul. She suddenly looked down. Dusty looked at Willis. None of them had noticed.
The waiter walked over and put the cup of coffee on the table. Taylor smiled. I think I might just have a toasted chicken and mayo sandwich please.
The waiter nodded and walked off. She carried on looking at her laptop. They all watched as a gent walked by and walked over to her table. He grinned. What’s up coach? You ready for tonight?
Taylor chuckled and nodded. Oh just you wait. We are going to have a white wash. Mark my words. Four to zero. The Bumblebees take the cup!
Aaron roared with laughter. Not so sure about four to zero.
Taylor chuckled and nodded. Oh for sure.
Dusty listened. He wondered who on earth the Bumblebees could be. But who was the gent sitting with her. He kept listening to their conversation. Willis and the gang were continually talking about work. And he really wasn’t interested.
The waiter walked over. Aaron smiled. I will have a glass of beer. Draft. And a glass of sweet rose’ please.
The waiter smiled and put the toasted sandwich down. Taylor chuckled as Aaron tucked in and started eating her sandwich. Hey!
Aaron grinned. We can get another.
Taylor shook her head and smiled. She looked up and smiled at Dusty. He smiled and kept watching her. Taylor kept looking at Dusty. He had smoldering looks that really appealed to her. His jet black hair. His dark eyes. And his features. A little on the rugged looking side. But everything put together was gorgeous.
Aaron cleared his throat and Taylor looked at him and smiled. Something has caught your eye.
Taylor smiled. Those are the guys that I work with.
Aaron turned and looked at everyone and nodded. But not the good looking one.
Aaron grinned. Now which one would that be?
The one with the jet black hair.
Aaron slowly turned and looked at Dusty. Dusty smiled and nodded. Aaron nodded. He turned around. Nice suit. I like that cut. Bit brave wearing that bright blue shirt.
Taylor giggled. I think I like the blue shirt.
Aaron chuckled and nodded. Their beer and wine arrived. Aaron smiled as he sipped.
Taylor closed her laptop and put it into her bag with her notepad. And have you resigned yet?
Taylor leaned forward. Not so loud. Those idiots work with me.
Aaron nodded. Not yet. I have two things to do. Get those finalized. Once I have them in order then I will do the necessary. Probably by Wednesday. I am worried about the restraint of trade.
Well. If it is for six months. Which you said. Just step aside and wait a while. Lie low. Take your break like you wanted. Go away. Didn’t you make those reservations yet?
Taylor nodded and smiled. I did. I am booked in. I will be away between the twelfth and sixteenth. Hello Resort Oasis.
Aaron grinned and nodded.
Dusty took his cellphone and made a quick note of the information and the dates. He looked at Willis. So what is her name then?
Taylor McGuire.
Dusty nodded. So what does she do?
Willis nodded. We all do the same. Source for new clients. And once we have those we supply the staff. Arrange the interviews and whatever.
Dusty nodded and smiled and looked up. Taylor looked up and shyly smiled and looked away.
Aaron smiled. You are blushing.
Taylor smiled and nodded. Dad he keeps looking at me. And I can’t help it. He is such a beau.
Aaron chuckled. About time you started dating you know.
Taylor smiled and nodded. Not for a while. I can’t even think about it. If I start this I am going to be really wrapped up.
Aaron smiled. Will they make you work the termination period?
Somehow I think I might be unemployed on Wednesday.
Aaron chuckled and nodded. You realize you could put them out of business.
Dad. Business is business. I would never intentionally do anything like that to anyone.
Aaron nodded. A few biggies coming up. And if you can land those.
Taylor shook her head. No Dad. I will land those big fish. And then from there we are going to fly.
Aaron nodded. They finished their drinks and Aaron finished the sandwich.
Aaron took money out of his wallet and handed it to Taylor. She smiled. Are you going to be there tonight?
And see my team win. Oh yes. I will be wearing my Bumblebee top and yelling at the top of my voice. It is at the South Park isn’t it? At six.
Taylor nodded. Aaron grinned. See you later.
Taylor smiled. See you later Dad.
Aaron smiled and nodded. He stopped at the table and looked at Dusty. He put out his hand. Aaron McGuire. Haven’t we met?
Dusty stood up. He shook his hand. Dustin Banks. Dusty. Very clever.
Aaron smiled and nodded. Banks.
Dusty nodded. Aaron smiled as he walked off and chuckled to himself. Taylor held her head down and grimaced. Dusty sat down and looked at Taylor. She looked up and smiled. The waiter came over and she put the cash in the leather wallet and handed it to him. Thank you.
The waiter smiled as he walked off. Taylor got up. She smiled as she walked by the table. Taylor looked at Dusty and smiled. He smiled as she walked off.
Dusty took out his cell phone and dialed. Hey Mum. Are you free this evening?
And where are we all going? Your sister is sitting looking at me with sorry little eyes.
Dusty chuckled. We are going out. I don’t know what we are going to watch. But. Tell me. What is the color of a Bumblebee?
Yellow and black.
Good. Now tonight you all have to wear yellow and black.
Oh Dad will love that!
Dusty chuckled. And the function starts at six.
Six? We could be home by seven!
Dusty chuckled. Be ready. Tell Tina to be ready. And take jackets. We might be outside.
Right. This conversation is getting stranger by the minute. We must take our jackets. Wear yellow and black. And we have to be there by six.
Dusty chuckled. Be ready. I will pick you up at five thirty.
You better get a move on then.
Dusty looked at his watch. Got some time to head home and change. You will recognize me. In yellow.
Olivia roared with laughter. See you then.
Dusty got up. Right chaps. See you next time around.
They all looked up and nodded. See you around Dusty.
Dusty smiled as he walked off. He headed straight home and had a shower and got dressed in his black jeans and put his yellow golf shirt on. He grabbed his jacket and drove over to his parents’ house.
CHAPTER 2
Dusty walked in and smiled. Tina grinned. How do I look?
As bright as me!
Tina giggled. Where are we going?
We are going to South Park. We need to be there by six.
Tina looked at Dusty. But that is a park!
Dusty nodded. It is.
And what are we going to do there?
Dusty smiled. We will all find out when we get there.
Dennis walked through. I only have a yellow cap.
Dusty grinned and nodded. Are we ready?
They all nodded and walked out with Dusty. He drove to the park and parked the car and they walked to the little stand. There were lots of people already sitting down on the grass with their blankets.
Dusty looked around. He spotted Aaron with his wife. They were sitting on camping chairs and Aaron had a beer in his hand. Britt, his wife, had her glass of wine in her hand. Tina looked around and smiled. Soccer?
Dusty chuckled and nodded. There was suddenly applause. The first team ran out behind an elderly gent. They were dressed in blue. Tina chuckled. Dennis roared with laughter. If they are six they are lucky.
Robert tapped him on the shoulder. All under six. This is the under six team. Those are the Rogers. And we are going to beat their pants off!
Tina giggled and nodded. The little boys all took their places on the field. Dusty watched as Taylor ran out with the team of little boys following her. They had yellow shirts with black markings and they wore black shorts. They had bright yellow and black socks on. Tina sighed. Oh isn’t it sweet!
Everyone took their places. Dusty smiled as he looked at Taylor. She was dressed the same as the boys. She even wore the same shorts. She had her peak cap on but wore it back to front.
The whistle went off. The parents all started getting up and moved to the side of the field. The whistle went off for a foul. Taylor stepped closer. Sorry Fred. That was not a foul!
Fred the ref looked at Taylor and she shook her head. He looked at her. Play on.
Taylor stepped away and stood at the side. There was suddenly loud cheering and the Rogers team scored their first goal. One of the little boys in the Bumblebees team was tripped and he fell and scraped his knee. Taylor ran up and wiped him off. There was no blood. She sat on her knees and spoke to Steven. It was all quiet as they watched. Steven smiled and he gave Taylor a big hug. He ran back to his position. Taylor walked to the side.
Play continued. The Bumblebees took control of the ball. All of a sudden the parents were yelling and screaming. Some were running up and down. Aaron got up and yelled. Go Scott! Go!
Dusty grinned as he watched. He was swept up in the excitement. Tina started running up and down the side of the field. Spurring the little boys on. It started getting louder and louder. The first goal was scored. Then the second and a third. The ref smiled and blew the whistle. Four to one. The Bumblebees!
Aaron took a deep breath. He smiled and sat down. The boys all lined up. Taylor got on her knees and the line moved. Taylor handed each of them the tiniest little trophy they had ever seen. They walked in a line and then shook the other teams hands. They stood proudly and held their trophies and everyone took photographs.
Dusty smiled and looked around. The fires had started burning. He hadn’t even noticed. Come. Let me introduce you.
The family walked over to Aaron. Aaron grinned. Dusty Banks. Nice of you to come and give some support.
Dusty grinned. He introduced the family to Aaron and Britt. We brought loads of meat. I hope you are joining us.
Dennis shook his head. Didn’t come prepared.
Aaron shook his head. Nonsense. Join us.
Dennis smiled and nodded. Well why not. I am going to head to the grocer quickly. Pick up a few things.
Olivia nodded as Dennis drove out.
Taylor smiled as she walked over to her family. She looked at Dusty. Hi. I am Dusty. My sister Tina and my Mum Olivia. Dad just stepped out.
Taylor chuckled. This is a nice surprise.
Dusty nodded. We are Bumblebee fanatics.
Taylor giggled. Tina chuckled. Taylor looked down. Yes Steven?
He held a box of chocolates and handed it to Taylor. Coach Taylor.
He handed her the box. Taylor leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. Thank you. Such a big box! Wow! When I watch the Smurfs this evening I will eat them.
Steven smiled and nodded. Because we won.
Taylor smiled. We sure did. And that goal was amazing!
Steven smiled and ran off. Taylor looked up and waved at Steven’s parents. They smiled and waved back.
Aaron got up and handed a beer to Dusty. He gave Olivia, Tina and Taylor a bottle of cooler. So Dad how is the meat?
Cooking.
I don’t see it.
Aaron grinned. You have to be patient.
Starved you know. Someone ate my toasted sandwich this afternoon.
No!
Dusty grinned and nodded. I saw that.
Aaron grinned. They all looked up as Dennis walked over with three huge packets. He took out a pack of beers. "That is for the cooler box. Got two bottles of wine and loads
