About this ebook

A collection of great poems written in two different Millennia, which are all treating the concept of "time", but each on their own also deal with love, hatred, regression, politics, infatuation, chance, despair and friendship. Initial remarks

I have been writing poetry since I went to high school.

    Not always with much success.

    Yet I have persevered.

The poems you hold in your hands

    Are all about

    Time

    Yours, mine, ours

    Everybody’s time – all times

    Time as a concept

    And some are also about

    Love, infatuation, hatred

    And denial

The oldest is from 1985 and some are from this year

    That’s a long time

    But maybe time stands still

I sometimes hate my poems with that

    Self-hatred

    Only the poet can have

    I find them strange, weird

    I feel alienated towards them

    I don’t understand them

Sometimes, I cannot believe that it was

    Me

    Who wrote them

I feel like banging my head against them wall in

    Frustration

    Over them

    Tear them asunder

    Burn them

    Flush them down the drain

    Make the written unwritten

    Never see them again

But mostly I care about them

    They are part of me

They mean a lot to me

    They are my innermost thoughts

    They are my heart blood

    They are my tears

    Please be gentle with them.

    Maybe time stands still

    Long time before time

    Space is conceived from nothing

    Space comes out of nowhere

    Dense clouds of organic dust

Through the ecstatic dance of galaxies

Fertilised by the light of the sun

    Heading for infinity

    Towards the finite

    Into the beginning

    It begins now

    Now it begins

    Yesterday starts tomorrow

    Today is already long gone

    Maybe time stands still

In the empty thoughts of the stupid

Or in a plough not ploughing

    In innocence

Or in a scale not weighing

    Between the houses

    Or in broken glass

    Maybe time stands still

    In ancient oaks

    In heavy blue mountains

    In silence

    In time

    Before the storm

The mist drifts across the road

    At the place

    In the forest

Where the people of the night meet up

    And significantly impairs

    The outlook

    Somewhere close by

    In a mist-covered field

    On the burned-down straws

    The soldiers are resting

    This last night

    Heroic you

    You are a hero

    Heroically you have rejected

    You are not well

    You
