    Gwubbins is delighted to be invited to see her sister star in a musical with her celebrity dog, Barney.

    Seated in the audience with her friends, the Pirate Twins, the Wonky Wizard and Mittens the Sheep, Gwubbins tries to improve the show with her imperfect magic, with disastrous effects. The singing becomes yodeling, the dancing becomes jazzy and the dogs all misbehave and forget that they are celebrities for a while.

    There are hilarious consequences as spells go wrong, but it is no fun for the actors on the stage. To the actors credit they improvise and keep dancing, giving Gwubbins and the Wonky Wizard time to put things right before the end of the show.

    But will the audience appreciate the hard work of the actors or will the show be a flop? No one can tell until the end whether there will be booing from the crowd or a standing ovation.

    Providing an insight into the world of theater, this tale allows children to grasp the concepts of acting and performing whilst enjoying an entertaining storyline.

    Themes that run through Gwubbins stories include friendship and kindness as the characters tackle challenges they encounter together during their adventures - but beware - Barney the Musical contains some growling!

    I am the author of the Gwubbins the Witch stories - a children's fiction series. I wanted to write stories that I would have enjoyed reading as a child! I am delighted to collaborate with illustrator Mary Lou Springstead who has supplied the illustrations. A gallery has been set up on line for children to send in their pictures relating to the Gwubbins stories. More details about the Gwubbins project can be found on my very own Gwubbins website - see below for address. About Ella Jo When I was younger I travelled to India three times over the years. Thus I undertook meditation classes in Bodgaya and singing lessons in Varanasi, and did many, many tarot readings. I published an article called 'The Origins of Tarot' (Femspec Magazine, 2007). This was written after research undertaken in Bengal and is now published in my book 'Does Tarot Come From India?' Travelling in Turkey allowed me to discover clues for the origins and development of Tarot. 'Journey of a Tarot Reader' begins with my travel diary. On my return home I researched my findings and I was able to expand the book. Thus 'Does Tarot come from India?' will appeal to those with a little more in-depth knowledge of Tarot, whilst 'Journey Of A Tarot Reader' can also appeal to novices. I am pleased to be able to present theories from a slightly different angle on the appearance of tarot in Europe. I have written other books that study tarot including in-depth analysis about The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress and The Emperor.
