In the year 1946, she moved to Buffalo, New York, with her husband, Kurt Klein. She got involved in the work of raising awareness about the Holocaust, prevention of hunger, and promotion of tolerance in New York.
In New York, she met many other Jews and she developed ties with several Jewish groups. She began lecturing about her experiences as a young woman who had witnessed the Holocaust.
