    About the Author

    What is a Jellyfish?

Jellyfish are animals that live in the sea. Most jellyfish are made up of a bell or top part. Then there are lots of tentacles or arms that hang down from the bell. These arms can be up to 100 feet (30.5 meters) long!

The arms are the part of the jellyfish you want to stay away from. They have tiny stingers all over them. These stingers can inject poison into anything they touch.

The stingers have sharp points on them called barbs. That makes them stick into whatever they touch.
