In the Beginning
How did I get to this point in my life…I asked myself looking down at my feet…one last lick…that’s all it was supposed to be…in and out and get as far away from Sacramento as I could…Now I’m going to have to bury this nigga along with my past….I don’t need anyone or anything linking me to this shit… Slump thought looking at his boy Tee. Old friends become new enemies.
Slump had been laying shit down for as far back as anybody getting money could remember. If you were a hustler, you had better have both eyes on the boogieman. That’s what the streets had named Slump. He had this way of stepping out of nowhere almost magically. The grimiest of the grimiest. A predator to only predators. Growing up the black sheep of a big family, all he wanted to do was get away. Start over fresh somewhere where no one knew him. Somewhere the Boogieman didn’t exist.
The Day It All Began
Prologue
Jaylon! JAYLON MUTHAFUCKIN DREW! I know you hear me calling yo’ nappy headed ass, boy. If you don’t get yo’ black ass in this room.
I’m coming, ma. Damn!
What you doing in that room anyway?
You always up in my shit. You don’t never go through Shawanna or Lee’s room. You always up in mine.
Jaylon said while walking in his room…and as soon as he did, he knew it was over. On his bed laid his bag of toys…two twin rugger P89D’s with thirty round clips, a box of bullets, a ski mask, a pair of leather murder one’s, and a little less than a pound of Blu Dragon, some of the best weed to hit the streets of Sactown in the Catpiss and Grapes.
Boy you still live in my house and I will go in any room up in this bitch whenever I feel like it. Now, where this shit come from and why is it in my house?
Damn, you ask too many questions.
What you say, boy?
Nothing!
Jaylon said putting everything back in the bag, all except for one of his twins, which he tucked into his waistline. He went to his closet and pulled out his black Rockman hoodie and a Jordan box off the top shelf.
After putting his hoodie on, he opened the Jordan box, which held $16,000. Counting out $5,000, he gave it to his mom and started to walk out the door of his room.
Where you going?
Momma K asked.
I don’t know, but when I get there, I will let you know. Until then, I’ll be around. But if you ever need me, Lee will know how to find me.
Jaylon said as he walked down the hallway.
Big Bro, where you going?
His younger brother Lee asked, peeking his head out of his room.
It’s time, bro. I got to get what I got coming and get the fuck away from this place.
Boy, quit talking crazy and come back here!
Momma K yelled. She had been hearing things about her oldest son since he got out of CYA, California Youth Authority a year ago. But the eyes don’t lie and those big brown eyes she had loved so much when he was younger had turned dead cold.
Almost as if he could hear what she was thinking, he looked at her and said, Don’t believe everything you hear about me, Momma,
as he walked out the door.
However, before he could all the way out of the yard, his little brother ran out of the house, stood in front of him, and said, Slump or be slumped.
Chapter 1
So you sure with this shit lil’ nigga? Because if not, get yo young ass out the car right now.
Tee said to Slump.
I’m gon’ keep it real Tee. I don’t think you really know me because if you did, you would never have said that shit. So to answer that question, all I gotta say is drive cuz I can show you better than I can tell you.
Slump said cocking his twins remembering the last thing his little brother Lee said to him before he left…slump or be slumped.
Yeah. Alright.
Tee said. Show me lil’ nigga,
he said before pulling close to the corner.
That’s the nigga spot right there."
Remember in and out.
How we gon’ get in. The nigga Munch got all them bars and shit all over the place?
Slump said looking at
