About this ebook
The Quintessential Housewife - what do you do all day? One woman's plight into the daily comical chaos as a housewife in hopes of achieving that moment of calm at the end of the day along with a sense of worthiness.
Her biggest challenge is to come up with some witty banter to that question she is asked at every gathering - So what have you been up to? She would love to say she reduced corporate expenditures by one million like her neighbor, designed and produced fashionable well-known labeled clothes like her best friend, or saved an extinct bug by putting it on the endangered list like her pal from high school that still keeps her in his social media. Perhaps, it would be to just have her husband show a little more appreciation. Then again, she may be her own worst enemy when it comes to why she cannot seem to think of herself as the most valuable team player in the house.
Come laugh, cry, cheer, or make a stink over Caroline Witty's adventures as the Quintessential Housewife.
We all wear our pink the same; those of us often wear different shades. It is not the color that I am talking about; it is the reference to our womanhood. I am Caroline Witty, and this is my recent epiphany about what it takes to be the quintessential housewife.

I am an independently published author that finds scraps of time to write with intentions to escape the perils of a working life while owning and operating three small businesses with my husband, raising teen boys, sixteen paws (yes four shelter dogs) and a tank full of fish that keep multiplying on their own every time we look for baby fish – free fish anyone? For all of the chaos, testing of mental fortitude, strength and intuition I have endured, I have a lot to be thankful for.Recent years have put my dedication to writing time on the back burner. There were a few major surgeries within my immediate household, to then have major changes in life in general. As of 2015, I lost my mother to the final battle of Ovarian Cancer. She was a strong independent woman that I loved deeply but often saw things quite a bit differently, yet only a mother knows, you love your child no matter what - and that love will always find a way.Between our business, teens, my mother’s cancer battle and life, I have found a renewed sense of what makes me content when the tides are trying to drown me... and that is to be creative in any whimsical way that nudges me. I am back to writing full force when time allows, painting, gardening, taking pictures, knitting or my all-time favorite thing that helped me morn my loss, scrapbooking. All of these things are so very therapeutic and to be able to share with others, gives me joy.I hope you like my books, not perfect as they could be; but life is not perfect and is meant to be enjoyed nonetheless. – CJ Hawk

Chapter One
We all wear our - you think I am going to say pants - pink the same way. I am not talking actual clothes or color; I am talking about our decision to be a housewife. Now this isn't just about being a mom, a wife, working mom, stay at home mom; this is about all of it, some of it and parts of it all mixed into one big pink kaleidoscope of varying pink shades, that put us smack-dab in the center of the middle of it. As we all know, we rule this world we call our home.
I recently acquired a sense of humor in my ability to figure out who I am in this crazy house of mine, what role I play and why I chose to partake in things the way I do. This is my story, please join in my humorous adventure, as I, Caroline Witty, five-foot something or other depending on my shoe heel size, hair color that changes with my whims so just picture me in a pink wig, and eyes that were born brown but when my household occupants make me mad, they will swear they are red with fire shooting out of them. For now, they are calm and smiling brown eyes.
I did not fall into this contraption of a mousetrap on my own. Nope. I married a man thirteen years ago. I had a college degree but somewhere after having three kids, it seems to have been misplaced. I have loving parents who decided that the best time to travel across the world is while I am shooting out offspring like its water in a water gun on a hot summer day. Three kids, four years and yes! - I do know what birth control is, I just don't understand self-control.
I use to work a nice plush job in an office, with that said lost degree. I had coworkers I socialized with; some still actually want to know me now. Not sure why, as their lives seem like royalty compared to mine, or maybe that is why, so they can remind themselves as to why they stayed their course of dual income, no kids.
That nice plush cubicle looks heavenly compared to my kitchen on any given moment. The center of my universe and the place that is long overdue for a makeover with its seventies style wood kitchen cabinets and yes that is oak parquet flooring on my kitchen floor, plus or minus a few tiles.
I even have friends I still see from college. Some
