About this ebook

Arizona 1889
Carter Tiles is an unbending town marshal. He first learnt his trade as a wild kid on the Frontier under the tutelage of a famed gunfighter and he believes there is no middle ground, you’re against the law or with it. By extension you’re either dead or alive in his book. Now the bad old days are behind him and he is settled with a fine young family in a quiet little town near the Mexican border.
It was a simple transportation job, at least it appeared that way at first. To take the captured outlaw, Damon Caine from his jail in Mexico down to Yuma Penitentiary. But somewhere along the way Carter runs into the Cole brood, a band of hairy mountain men out for trouble. That’s where Carter partners up with Jason Zac, a man as sharp and keen as one of the knives he carries.
But the transportation task doesn’t quite pan out as intended and before long, Carter and Zac are bound on a chilling vengeance trail.
Under a harsh and remorseless regime, a haunted Carter Tiles is bent on tracking down his evil enemies with nothing but blood in his eye and two pounds of cold steel strapped to his leg.

It’s not such a big step from pictures to writing. And that’s how it started out for me. I’ve illustrated more Western book covers than I care to mention and been doing it for a long time. No hardship, I hasten to add, I love the genre and have since a kid, although originally I made my name painting the cover art for other people, now at least, I manage to create covers for my own books.A long-term closet writer, only comparatively recently, with a family grown and the availability of self-publishing have I managed to be able to write and get my stories out there. As I did when illustrating, research counts a lot and has inspired many of my Westerns and Thrillers to have a basis in historical fact or at least weave their tale around the seeds of factual content.Having such a visual background, mostly it’s a matter of describing the pictures I see in my head and translating them to the written page. I guess that’s why one of my early four-star reviewers described the book like a ‘Western movie, fast paced and full of action.’I enjoy writing them; I hope folks enjoy reading the results.
