      I dedicate this book to my wife, Jill, who allowed me the time necessary to focus on this project and has participated in helping bring it to completion. From the initial conception, to the long hours of structuring, writing and editing, she has been there as a counselor, confidant and cheerleader.

      Throughout the many years of our marriage, I could always count on her to be the better part of me.       Introduction

      The Importance of Faith

      "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." —Hebrews 11:6

      Faith for a Christian is a firm persuasion, conviction, or trust in another. This definition when added to the above scripture is the very foundation from which I preach and teach others to practice faith and trust in the Lord. Faith and trust can be used interchangeably. I believe that our faith or trust in God and Jesus should not stop with praying the Sinner’s Prayer. Our faith in God is why we are called Believers.

      The Christian Believer is: One who gives credit to the truth of the Scriptures, as a revelation from God. A Christian—in a more restricted sense—is one who receives Christ as his Savior and accepts the way of salvation revealed in the gospel (Webster’s Dictionary—1828). In other words, this believing is a person’s expression of their faith in God and His Word, to receive Christ into his or her heart as their personal Savior; with the desire to live a life committed to the truth of God’s Holy Word.

      Faith, and the need for it, should be Christianity 101 for every Believer. Anyone who dares to say they are a devoted follower
