About this ebook
Justine and Nigel have made their way through the first galley, and have found the room where she nearly lost her life so many years ago. Not much has changed, including the man she thought was dead. Old feelings war with new, and Justine has to face a love she'd long forgotten.
With Gary's help, they travel through more galleys in search of the evil Maya, Justine's childhood playmate, the girl who had almost killed Gary, now grown into a woman intent on twisting time to destroy two worlds.

Galleys Between
Sacrifice
Right hand forward, down, wait. Left knee forward, down, wait. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
I don’t remember the galleys being this long, this much space between. I know a child’s view of things makes them bigger, longer, than they actually are, so why does it seem like it’s so much longer to get anywhere here, now?
Nigel crawled along behind me, paying more attention to the sleeping faces below us than I was. I could hear him muttering under his breath, barely controlling his distaste and fear. I had warned him early not to speak; if we woke the sleeping below, we’d be in for an even longer crawl. They’d reach up between the boards, grab at us, keep us from our destination as they had been kept from theirs.
I wasn’t sure how I knew that, but I knew. I couldn’t tell him any more than that. I think that may have added to his frustration, but still, as a dutiful student of Professor Angevin and the magicks of the world, he followed. As a dutiful friend to the weird ones – that being myself, and the two Sionnach of our group, Sana and Aluin – he continued on. As with all of us, including my newfound grandmother, Genny, he too knew the need to stop the Sionnach time from breaking into ours.
Sionnach was a world beyond ours. Similar, and yet different, it had helped in the creation of our world as we know it today. In fact, the two had been one, once upon a history (as Genny would say). In between the two worlds ran what was literally called the between, and galleys, similar to the wet-walls in old buildings, criss-crossed back and forth. They weren’t physically there until someone like me found them.
It’s really hard to explain.
I was very familiar with the galleys, having traversed them many times as a child. I’d even been lost, so to speak, in the between. I’d travelled an unfamiliar galley, and ended up in a bathroom. I stayed there, for longer than I cared to remember. I’d met Gary there, and thought he’d been killed by the Sionnach version of me.
Turns out, no.
Gary would be waiting where the galley came to an end. In some ways, I couldn’t wait to see him, but in others… I’d just left him
