Vedic mathematics is the easy way to find out the solutions of arithmetical problems. For finding our the squares and the cubes of a number, formula are available. Also multiplication of three numbers or two numbers with 12 or more digits are possible mentally by use of these methods. The book contains several illustrated examples for each sutras or rules of multiplication or division.

It was found amongst the students that use of calculator made them to shy away from doing sums by use of their mental calculations. Tables are rarely learnt, thus they are at a loss when simple calculations of multiplications or divisions were given to them. And when the number of digits is increased, they just scratch their head.

Old procedures of calculations, better known as Vedic Mathematics are there to help them out.

I just try to give them a few tricks from Vedic Mathematics to do their sums with ease. Hope it will be useful to them and will be appreciated.

My earlier book in Bengali is now also modified. This book is written for English reading people.

Chapter 1.1:- What is a seed number

Every number expressed has a seed number of single digit. This is obtained by adding all of the digits used to write the number. As an example, seed number of 3756 is 3 + 7 + 5 + 6 = 21 = 2 +1 =3: and seed number of 4509238 is 4+5+0+9+2+3+8= 31=3+1=4. Please note that the seed number is always expressed in single digit.

The seed number can also be found out, when the main number is divided by 9 and the remainder is obtained.. For example seed number of 71 is 7+1=8 and 71 when divided by 9 give a remainder of 8.

The digital root can also be found out by deleting any 9 coming during the addition of the digits of the number. Like the seed number 0f 36711465 is 6 since taking from left 3 and 6 making 9 is left out, 7 and 1 and 1 makes 9 is are also left out. Of remaining 465, 4 and 5 makes 9 which are left out, so we have only 6 remaining, which will be the digital root or seed number.

The digital root of a number is zero if and only if the number is itself zero. It will be a positive integer if and only if the number is itself a positive integer.

The digital root of (n) is (n), if and only if the number has exactly one digit, and it will be less than (n) if and only
