    A History in Blood depicts a world where vampire culture and politics reside peacefully, and for the most, undetected beside the human world. It's a secretive and more dangerous culture for sure, but counterpointed by everyday issues and problems that vampires have to deal with, just like their human prey. Against this backdrop, and with a healthy dose of humor, the story follows Titus Acilius (a.k.a. Julian Brownell, aka Christian Beauparlant) on his journey from Boston to New Orleans to Montreal to protect the people he loves from harm even as he searches for the answers to his ancient-life crisis.

    Christopher DeFazio is a career ER physician, an amateur history buff, a dog-lover, and avid traveler, and a hack golfer. When he’s not stitching up wounds or writing books, he also teaches Physician Assistant students from Northeastern University. He is a credited editor of the Manual of Emergency Medicine, editions four through six and counting. He collected his BA in biology and his MD at Boston University. Inspired by authors like Stephen King, Frank Herbert and Anthony Everitt, Chris writes to entertain his readers and immerse them in his stories via macabre circumstances and a twinge of historical flair. A History in Blood is the first in a planned series of novels revolving around the colorful life of Titus Acilius, the Roman legionary turned modern-day vampire.
