I figli di Filomena nascono, crescono e vivono su La terra di Filomena. Ma, a differenza della mamma che vive esclusivamente per la “sua” terra, e per i figli naturalmente, essi vanno in città: studiano in città, conoscono la città. Che è una città di provincia, meridionale, piccola città dove si svolgono tutti gli eventi raccontati. Questi in parte sono veri, o possono essere veri, in parte modificati dalla fantasia creativa dell’autore che li sistema a suo piacimento in luoghi ben definiti e con un’ambientazione storica ben precisa. Il romanzo, perché di romanzo si tratta, differisce dal precedente perché, a differenza del primo, dove la storia, quella vera, predominava sulle vicende narrate, in questo la storia fa solo da scenario, compare e scompare tirata da un filo invisibile che trapassa il racconto guidando i passi dei protagonisti. Che sono due fratelli, Luca e Lucia, figli dell’amore e della tragedia. Figli di una terra aspra e difficile, figli di un periodo di lutti e di speranze. Il secondo Dopoguerra, la ricostruzione, il Sessantotto. In questi anni si sviluppa il romanzo, che apre uno spiraglio sugli anni del passato, squarciando un velo che oscurava la triste realtà di un mondo ancorato al passato che cerca di aprirsi una via, una nuova via, verso il futuro. Pasquale De Luca
Pasquale De Luca è nato a Tropea (VV). Rimasto orfano di padre, a causa di un grave incidente ferroviario, dopo il diploma di maturità classica, ha conseguito all’Università di Messina la laurea in Lettere Moderne discutendo la tesi “Problemi sociali e rivolte contadine a Tropea nei secc. XVII e XVIII”. È stato insegnante di materie letterarie in diverse scuole medie calabresi dal 1979 al 2007. Socio di diverse associazioni culturali, è fondatore, organizzatore e presidente del Premio Internazionale di Poesia “Tropea: Onde Mediterranee”. Collabora a giornali e riviste a diffusione nazionale; è scrittore e poeta apprezzato dal pubblico e dalla critica (è stato definito “il poeta contadino” e “poeta dell’anima e della natura”). Dal 2009 è direttore della Collana π della Meligrana Editore di Tropea. Alcune sue opere, di narrativa e di poesia, sono state pubblicate in riviste letterarie e in antologie poetiche. Ha pubblicato: Tristi le ore – poesie, Carello Editore, Catanzaro, 1994; Fantasie poetiche – Un pensiero d’amore x amore... – poesie, Meligrana, Tropea, 2007; Io non capisco – poesie Meligrana, Tropea, 2007.
