About this ebook
I want to write your song my love
For its what i want most for you
I've listened to your spirit
Heard your music
And I want to write the lyrics to your song
For it needs to be heard
By everyone with hearts enough to listen
I believe in you
And will be here
In greatest joy or deepest sorrow
Katie Parker
In second grade, Katie Parker wrote her first novel about a heartbroken tapeworm. Since then, she’s published many (much better) nonfiction kid’s books on topics ranging from astrophysics to zoology. When not researching all sorts of fun things, Katie can be found running, rescuing animals, or exploring outside. She shares her Connecticut home with her wonderful husband, three amazing kids, and their Elder Statesdog, Bocephus the Beautiful. Her first novel remains inexplicably unpublished.

BEFORE I RISE
Father
Before I rise this morning
Let me thank you for the beauty that resides outside my window
For the air I breathe
And for Your undying love
And Father
Before I rise
Let me remember
That greater joy is found when we look for ways to bless another before ourselves
Placing joy in the hearts of those we care about
Can make our hearts sing
Our Souls rejoice
And for you to quietly say well done
There is no greater joy then to warm the heart of the ones we love
Seeing them smile
Can bring our hearts to tears of joy
And bless us more then anything that could be placed at our feet
Spreading Your love Lord
Comes with the most wonderful feeling
Walk with me as I go about my day
Bless those I come in contact with
As well as the one dearest to my heart
That loves you more than words can say
And waits for the sun to rise outside his wind
So he too can bow his head
And in his gentle voice pray
Lord
Before I rise
Help me to bless another before myself
And for those who reach out to me
Help me to find the words
To bring sunshine into their otherwise darkened world
Help me to be
