      Aside from the annoying story line of the ghosts, this was a good book. I'm not surprised that it was since PL Nunn has a habit of hitting it out of the park. Another good Fantasy/ M/M Romance by this author.

      Completely unexpected, I loved every minute of it- well maybe not the first couple of chapters but after that it really picks up.

      Even if one could let the astounding level of narcissism present in the "hero" of the tale pass, he or she certainly wouldn't be able to miss the obvious case of Stockholm Syndrome present in the main protagonist. I know the genre is fantasy, but come on. We're led to believe that a relationship built upon an initial instance of unconcensual intercourse can lead to a healthy, monogamous relationship. Though the author writes in a easy-to-read prose, the story line, character developement, and ending were seriously problematic at best.

      This book really needs a sequel. There are so many questions and story-lines left unfinished here. I still really enjoyed rereading this, even with the weak ending.

      This is an excellent fantasy tale and in my opinion; the only drawback was there were some unanswered loose ends to consider-- and that would be fine if a sequel existed. The story begins with an encamped army and a young ranger who kills a major enemy combatant and comes to the attention of the prince-commander. From there, the story travels a lot of territory-- war, political intrigue, ancient ghosts, personal relationships, and petty jealousies. It is a very full story, with plenty of action and detail to savor.
