About this ebook
Dream Chasers of the West is the true story of Clara Augusta Miller. In 1913, unmarried and alone at the age of thirty, Clara headed to Montana to file a homestead on free land, settling on the remote southern border of Glacier National Park. In many ways, Clara's story is the story of countless settlers who were destined to leave their impact on the West.
B. L. Wettstein
B.L. Wettstein was born and raised in rural central Minnesota where she attended the same one-room country school as her father and grandfather. Influenced by numerous great aunts and uncles, and living in close proximity to the family log house from the homestead era, she developed an appreciation for history. After teaching in the public school system followed by several years of international teaching on four continents, she retired and pursued a writing career with an emphasis on history. Her first book, a non-fiction, Dream Chasers of the West A Homestead Family of Glacier Park, published by Riverbend Publishing in Helena, MT, has become a favorite of readers who appreciate the sacrifices made by early settlers in Montana. B.L. Wettstein is currently weaving together a collection of short stories gathered from personal interviews during her travels and research across the West.
