    1.In Christ Jesus

    Romans 8:31-39

It is said that after food, clothing and shelter to love and be loved is our greatest need. With a world full of children growing up in broken homes, being brought up by single parents and with war and natural disasters causing more damage to the fibre of our society the world sits in a precarious place where love is a difficult commodity to find.

Love has many counterfeits, but each one leads to nowhere. Where is love? So often when it is found it is fragile and held together with control, manipulation and abuse. Our need to love is so great that eventually we will accept any attention even abuse. Why does the abused wife will go back into the relationship with her abusive husband? She is so desperate for attention that the negative attention of the abuser is better to than no attention at all.

Where in all this confusion do we find true love? A love that is unconditional, a love that is not dependant on what we have done? A love that is always there, always willing to receive us with open arms?

This passage in Romans describes this love which is not available to those who look on from the outside. It is found in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to receive this love you have to receive Jesus. So when the accuser wants to condemn us, God looks not to us, but rather to Christ’s completed work on the cross and on the basis of that, finds us not guilty.

Paul says that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Everything that stands between His love and us can be conquered through Him who loved us. Once we have received His love into our hearts nothing can separate us from Him therefore open your heart to receive Jesus and His love knowing that we will have to learn receive from, and trust Him step by step as we journey with Him.

2.God does not take away a life

    2 Samuel 14:14
